Philippine Airlines review by Jane 2015-02-21

Philippines Airlines flight 721 LHR - MNL and flight 211 MNL - SYD. Some pro's and con's to flying with Philippine Airlines. Firstly, I cannot complain about the price, it was very reasonable. Also the route is great - a relatively direct and quick way to get from London to Sydney. Service was friendly and food was not bad. However, these aircrafts are old - they still have ashtrays in the arms and the seats are falling apart in places. There is no in-seat entertainment system on board the LHR - MNL leg, although, this issue is redeemed by the use of free iPads. The second leg from MNL - SYD played one or two movies on shared screens which come down from the ceiling (in turbulence they shake and make a lot of noise). Overall, they are a get-what-you-pay-for airline and if you don't mind the lack of entertainment and older style interiors then I would recommend them for this route.
