Bought a return ticket with Scoot from Taipei to Sydney, via Singapore. Didn't purchase Scoot-Thru add-on because I knew I wouldn't need to change my flights, my plans were fixed. Arrived on time and ultimately waited through an eight hour delay, took off just before midnight for a flight scheduled to leave at 3.30pm. That's annoying but these things happen. What was unfair was that I missed my Singapore connecting flight, also a Scoot flight, due to the delay (I had purchased as one Taipei-Sydney package from the Scoot website). Scoot washed their hands of me at Singapore airport, said they weren't liable and it wasn't their responsibility to put me on another flight. Gave me two McDonald's vouchers and sent me on my way. I had to buy another ticket with another carrier to complete my journey to Sydney, more than $1200. Scoot's partner insurance service ultimately compensated me $150. The return flight back to Taipei was also delayed by three hours, and they lost my bags. I wasn't expecting five-star service, but I had hoped that purchasing a Taipei-Sydney ticket would mean they would deliver me from Taipei to Sydney.
