We were two travellers travelling on flight LH401 from JFK to Frankfurt 10 May 2016. When we were boarding, amongst us there were also approx 20-30 (or more ) orthodox Jewish people boarding also. Despite many requests from the cabin crew, the Jewish people, some upstairs and some downstairs, refused to take their seats and continued walking around the plane talking, and going up and downstairs. The plane was, as a consequence, approximately 20 minutes (or more ) late taking off, (while the cabin crew tried repeatedly, and failed repeatedly, to gain compliance to their instructions and safety requests) creating considerable concern for those passengers meeting a connecting flight. This included us. These passengers continued wandering the plane during the flight, no matter whether the seatbelt signs were on or off. Cabin crew requests were completely ignored. This Jewish group also held meetings, and prayer meetings, in approx three or four smaller groups, in the aisles, also inadvertently barricading access to toilets at various times. This made us feel very insecure, unsafe and really scared. It appears this small group was in charge of the cabin, as opposed to the crew.
