Air India review by Donald 2015-06-22

On June 16, 2015 I flew for 15 hours in Economy from Delhi, India to JFK, New York on flight AI 101. Without question, this was the worst flight I've ever been on and I fly a lot. The pilots did their jobs and got me to my destination, safely, and on time. Further the food was satisfactory. My issues have to do with the quality of the Economy cabin and the service given by the flight attendant crew. I sat in seat 46D on this 777. The carpeting and the fabric on the seats were stained. The seat fabric was threadbare, with wires beginning to stick out. The springs in my seat were shot and the vinyl on armrests was worn through to the next layer. In general, the cabin where I sat was filthy. The controls for my monitor did not work. We were served a meal shortly after takeoff. When we were finished with those meals, the attendants quickly removed the dirty trays from the two outside sections, but for hours left dirty trays in the middle section. Flight attendants performed their jobs, but were gruff, never smiled, and acted as the passengers were a nuisance. This will be my last flight on Air India, if I can ever help it. This plane and this flight crew need much help.
