We booked a rental car via Ryanair's website and paid in advance to Ryanair. The booking was confirmed but when we arrived at our destination (Palma), the car rental company (Hertz) told us that it had been cancelled. They could not explain when this happened and by whom. We had to rent another car (paying again) and were advised to claim a refund from Ryanair. After coming home, we contacted Ryanair to claim a refund. They told us that they could not help us because the car rental service is provided by an independent company and Ryanair only have a business agreement that passengers can book their service on their website. Despite providing all the evidence needed (booking confirmation, credit card statements, cancellation proof provided by Hertz) that we had paid for a service which was not delivered to us, and repeating our claim, they just responded with the same answer. It is amazing that they simply refused to take responsibility despite the fact that we had paid the car rental to Ryanair. We consider Ryanair's behaviour to be fraudulent and have no contacted our bank to file a complaint and ask them to help us reclaim our money.
