Please, please stay away from Air China. My dad was supposed to leave on November 30th. His flight path was from Houston to Beijing to Manila. They refused him a boarding pass the first time for needing a Visa. First of all, according to the Balikbayan Program, he's allowed 1 year in the Philippines visa FREE. Then after being on the phone with Air China for hours the next day, they tell me they've rebooked him to leave this morning (Dec 2). Dropping him off to the airport for the second time, I waited to make sure he got on the flight. Air China made his schedule but didn't reissue him a ticket. According to the front desk in the terminal, they had no record of his ticket. This is a disaster!! Now I'm requesting a refund and they're telling me to pay a $200 cancellation fee for a "no show"! It's been their mess up from the very beginning. You can't tell me he wasn't there trying to board the plane BOTH times because he WAS! It's Air China that needs to know the rights of people traveling on their airlines. Needless to say, we will NEVER attempt to fly Air China again, ever. And just a side note: Air China does NOT have a 24 hour customer service line.
