I flew on from New York t o Chicago O'Hare on a regular full fare economy seat. I was immediately impressed by the foul odor of the seat and brought it to the flight attendant's attention. She agreed it smelled like someone had thrown up and the seat was not cleaned properly. She told me to wait and she would try to move me. My neighboring passenger also complained and she brushed him off saying "one at a time". Once the door was closed she was unavailable until we were in the air. That's when she informed me there were no seats available to move me. as the flight continued others complained about the smell. All she said to us was "it's a short flight" as if to say, just deal with it. She never apologized or offered to do anything about the smell. It was a horrible experience. Looking around, I noticed the cabin as a whole was poorly cleaned. The only pleasant aspect of my trip was the gate attendant who sweetly reminded me that I almost left my bag in the waiting area before boarding. The mints in my bag helped me ignore the smell of vomit for 3 hours. EDITORS COMMENT: That sounds awful - what a disgusting smell. I don't know however what you would like the flight attendant to do - if there's no seats there's no seats and she can't put the 'vomit powder' on your seats as it would get all over your clothes.
