My parents ages 73 and 64 were travelling US to India on Jan 25 2017. I called Air India for seat assignment. They suggested I use extra leg room seats for US $50 each. I purchased seats and at the airport check in they refused my parents to use those seats because of age limit as these are near exit row. None of the age check was done by customer care before assigning these seats. I was ready to exchange seats for a refund of 100 dollars that I paid. They refused to pay back at checkin saying they dont have authority. I called customer service same time and they refused too. The fraudulently charged me for a service I couldn’t use, they did not do their check before assigning seats and were very rude when I explained what was going on. I also told them I had proof from check in counter - print outs showing my money is refundable but they refused saying it is not their policy to refund. Please help me. I have had multiple bad experiences with Air India but this is completely unfair and wrong. I have the refund doc issued by check in but when i call customer care they dont listen and ask me to send emails and call later and waste time.
