Vietnam Airlines review by Michelle 2016-12-12

I was flagged at the gate and directed to the counter. They said I didn't have a visa to enter Vietnam, so they wouldn't allow me to board the flight. I showed them my reservation that I was a transit passenger (passing through Ho Chi Minh City to Taiwan) they finally agreed that I didn't need the visa. However, they became vindictive at this point. They proceeded to quiz me on my travel to Taiwan and how long I would be there. I've lived in Taiwan (as a foreigner) for awhile and have to travel every 90 days to renew my visa. I hadnt yet booked my next outbound flight as this had never been required. The counter told me that they couldn't allow me on the flight because I hadn't booked that flight yet. They showed me their screen justifying this statement, nowhere did it say "required" to prevent me from boarding. So in order to placate them, I tell them that I will book a flight right then and proceed to do so. I show them my two confirmation emails saying that I booked and paid. They next tell me they need the ticket number, I didn't receive that information until just before boarding ended, and even then they stalled me unnecessarily until the very last moments. Never again.
