Jetstar are filling their international flights within Australia with domestic passengers. Strongly recommend you avoid such flights (or re-assignments by Jetstar, as happened to us). We travelled BNE-MEL on a flight that originated in Tokyo. At least two-thirds off the passengers were domestic. The flight (including pre-flight and post-flight) was at least an hour longer at each end due to International security requirements, including passports or other photo ID. At BNE, where to park - international car park or domestic car park for return trip? At MEL, everyone had to have individual Photo ID check, for which Border Protection staff did not seem prepared. Long delay before baggage collection. Definitely avoid this kind of booking with Jetstar.
