Economy Class

I travel regularly on Thai Airways. I miss the days of their very roomy economy cabins, but 32" seat pitch is as good as it gets nowadays in economy. Service ranges from acceptable to brilliant. On a recent trip back from Osaka to BKK, the crew were warm, helpful and did everything they needed to make the journey pleasant. They may be too accommodating when passengers behave badly. A weight lifter type on a Melbourne - Bangkok flight whose presence forced the young Thai couple next to him to flee to various other parts of a fairly full aircraft should have been met by police in Bangkok, but he got away with his behaviour -- which included talking non-stop at the young couple, refusing to listen to the crew reading the riot act (from a prepared script) to him, and eating whilst sitting on the floor, with food splattered everywhere. I don't see too many other airlines tolerating that. Food is OK and sometimes can be brilliant. Cutting some of the western noodle dishes would be a good idea - they're cheap and nasty and diminish the brand. Overall, it's a very good airline, sometimes lacking the class it once had in the past. EDITORS COMMENT: Great feedback - thanks for sharing it with us.
