A good news story. I mistakenly booked a return flight with partial mileage instead of full mileage, this flight being the flight that would finally get me to my long awaited gold status. After flying the first leg and seeing my partial mileage I contacted Thai, at that stage thinking it was their fault and not mine as I had been booking the same flights all year. I was probably a bit rude to them and was not happy. They informed me that it was my mistake. I upgraded my return flight to full mileage and would still fall short of my gold status. At this stage I had resigned to the fact that I would not reach my gold status for at least another 3 return flights due to the 12 month rolling period of qualifying miles. And out of the blue I was contacted by thai's Marketing Communications Specialist who understood my predicament. He then told me he would be granting my gold status upon my return flight even though I would fall short of the required miles. It so enlightening to know there are still companies out there treating people like people and not just numbers. A big thank you to Thai airways from a very satisfied customer. You have earned my loyalty for life.
