Malindo Air review by Kartick 2015-01-16

Worst Experience Ever: I have travelled Singapore - Kochi atleast 25 times in the past four years, and wanted to give Malindo a try. But the filght experience turned from bad to worst with every passing minute! First, the Singapore-KL flight was delayed by one hour, which my co-passengers said was not bad, going by Malindo standards. Anyway, not being disheartened, I took the flight to find the seats to be quite nice, for economy travel. But thats when the cabin started to get hot (not warm, but hot)! When enquired, the staff quipped that the aircon will be back once the flight takes off. Anyway, the entire leg from Singapore - KL passed by thanks to a magazine-turned-hand-fan. Then I didnt mind it, atleast I will get home in another 5 hours. Thats where I went wrong. As I went to the gate, I was told, the flight would be delayed by another 2 hours. In another 1.5 hrs, came a news from the land crew that the flight wont take off for another 2 hours (3 am) because of air-conditioning fault. When enquired further (might being right this time round), they said they will arrange for a rival airline flight to take us in 15 min. And this 15 min became 6 hours. It should be noted that, during this whole 9 hour wait, no accommodation or blankets were provided for even the toddlers; the reason being they are budget airlines. They served food, but here again goofed up by giving pilgrims to India (vegetarians) curry chicken rice. But then again, this time round, they atleast tried! At 9 am (10 hours after scheduled departure), the land crew is not sure if the flight would take off. Their reply was to fly us to Kochi by that night!! The temperature began to flare up by then, and somehow, managed to "divert" flight to Thailand to Kochi. Now coming to the flight in general. The landing gave me a jitter! Conclusion: I cancelled the return leg and booked in a reliable airline.
