My 17 year old son is currently stranded at Shanghai airport. Philippine Airlines appear to always overbook flights. His flight from Sydney to Heathrow was overbooked and he was moved to an Emirates flight which was fine. He was then supposed to fly with them from Heathrow to Sydney yesterday evening. Again the flight was overbooked. They moved him to a flight with China Eastern via Shanghai. He was told by PAL rep at Heathrow that he needed to retrieve luggage at Shanghai and then check in at Qantas desk. Qantas said that the voucher code he had was not valid and sent him to China Eastern desk. The same happened there and he was sent back to Qantas by which time he was shown as a cancelled passenger and the gates were closed. He was then left abandoned not knowing what to do in a different terminal to PAL. I then made two hour long calls during the night to Manila office of PAL. By this time the airport was closing down. My son was distraught and could not find anyone to help him. He is now booked on flight 24 hours after he should have left Shanghai. He is without money and PAL say they cannot organise food and drink. He has nowhere to go so stuck in airport for 24 hours 10 wi
