Austrian Airlines review by Mike 2015-01-08

I had flown with Austrians on route VIE-Washington DC and VIE-Chicago when they had the old seats which gave 6ft tall person just enough space to stretch legs. The new seating is not comfortable, first time I had pain in my legs for a week, I could not recline the seat (the bottom part slides forward when you try to recline), I was cramped and the cushion style or the seat itself caused my back muscles to hurt badly for days. On the connecting flight to Phoenix I was not able to sit for more than 20 minutes because the pain was unbearable. Your new seating is the main reason why you lose 6 stars. The crew has always been pleasant and attentive. For the work they do and the responsibility they have I give them a big credit. The food - never expect much on economy class with any EU airliner maybe except Lufthansa. Staff in Vienna is mix of rude people and a few nice ones. All over they seem to be disorganized and the boarding was mostly delayed even though the airplane had been standing there a long time.
