Business Class

I booked Business Class flights from Penang to Kuala Lumpur with Malaysia Airlines for myself and my 9 year old son, and then after a short transit time of 90 minutes in Kuala Lumpur, a connecting Business Class flight from Kuala Lumpur to Hong Kong also with Malaysia Airlines. At 1.30am the night before I received an email from Malaysia Airlines stating that our scheduled departure time of 1.10pm had been rescheduled to 2.30pm. This means that there was no way that I would be able to catch my connecting flight from KL to HKG. The fact that the airline knew a full 12 hours beforehand that they needed to reschedule the flight, and would not disclose the reason, caused great concern that this could be an aircraft maintenance issue, so there was no way in hell that I was going to catch that same plane. The airline flatly refused to offer any compensation for the inconvenience, and would not provide a refund for the Penang to Kuala Lumpur leg so that I could book with another airline. The 'only' solution that they could provide was to take an MAS flight almost 3 hours earlier at 10.45am, and be stuck in KL for 4 hours before my next flight. Customer Service is atrocious!!!!! EDITORS COMMENT: Whilst we completely understand your frustration , the airline is well within the international rules that all airlines would abide by - I don't think given the relatively small flight time change that any airline would have refunded you even though it is an inconvenience.
