I was flying on AF0259 on 7 July 2015 from Singapore to Paris. Upon entering the departure lounge at the Singapore airport, I was told by the AirFrance staff that our seats (husband and I) had been changed to allow a family to take over our seats in a row. I protested as I had selected the seats and paid additionally for them online. Notwithstanding, our seats were still given to the family. This was a clear breach of agreement as we had agreed with the airline that we would fly seated on those very selected seats! Subsequently, we were given another pair of seats which satisfied our basic requirement. But, such conduct we find quite unbecoming of a good airline. At least, there should be basic courtesy of enquiring whether we were willing to forego our seats before deciding on giving our seats to the family. The above conduct appears to be not uncommon as we witnessed a similar request for a change of another passenger's seat for a family who wished to sit in front row with more leg room, although that passenger said that she has paid extra for that seat. We hope the airline will take this feedback constructively and provide better service.
