I recently flew American Airlines for the first time in years and was reminded why I don't. I was forced to pay extra for a seat on my flight when I had booked the ticket a month in advance and checked in 24 hours prior to my flight. When I got to the airport, still not seats were available the employee was less than helpful in offering another solution. Once I got to my "upgraded" seat, I found that I had no extra room, the arm rest was broken and so was the tray table. The flight attendants and airport staff had zero personality and were not very friendly. I will do everything in my power to not fly with AA in the future. To top it off, the only way to get in touch with customer service to file a complaint is via email. The representative who responded had no sympathy and basically told me to kick rocks. I was unable to respond to the message because it was sent from an unspecified email address. The WORST customer service I have experienced...
