Economy Class

We were delayed due to a road closure. We arrived in the airport terminal at 6.00am for a 7.00am flight, 20 minutes before check-in closed. However due to hundreds of people trying to check in their bags plus unhelpful, rude staff we were told we had missed our flight. This is not an unusual event with Ryanair. 13 people missed our flight. This is very lucrative for the airline. Failure to get checked in due to an inadequate number of staff at the bag drop results in a charge of £100 per head for an alternative flight plus you will lose your return flight, giving Ryanair the option of reselling the ticket. Over 200 flights were due out that morning between 6.00am and 7.00am, the bag drop area was absolute bedlam. The customer has no comeback. Insurances won't pay out. If you take this airline to court they will refuse to attend and refuse to pay any fine. Ryanair are not a member of any airline regulating body such as ABTA. My advice is - fly with someone other than Ryanair.
