Air China review by sally 2015-11-26

Travelled to Hong Kong from Heathrow, via Beijing, with 2 teenagers and husband. Called airline before flights, as our booking was 2 separate ones, to arrange seats together. Man I spoke to was most helpful, booked all our seats for all 4 flights. Check in at Heathrow was quick and pleasant, bags checked right through to Hong Kong and all boarding cards issued, flight boarded on time and was half empty. i asked cabin staff if we could spread out into empty seats, she came back as soon as doors closed to say it was okay to move. Food was as good as any economy flight, drink choice limited, but you could get soft drinks whenever through the flight. smooth take off and landing. Transfer was excellent, arrived for 2nd flight with time to spare, despite only 1 hour changeover in Beijing. Return flights just as good. Staff friendly, polite and pleasant. Had read previous reviews about Air China which were dire, on our experience I can find no comparison to our flights. Yes alcohol is not freely available, just served with the food, but I think that's more Chinese culture, Considering we paid less than half what some airlines charge for the same trip, it was excellent value as well!
