The flight itself is pleasant for a hybrid airline company, if you do eventually make it onto the plane. There are in flight entertainment and meals but you can't help but feel it's a scaled down version. The 30kg luggage is a nice touch, considering budget airlines are slowly creeping up with their pricing. However, a faulty IT department runs this company. For example, most companies allow flights to be re-booked up to a year and to different destinations provided you pay the price difference when you purchase flexi-fare, however, with Malindo, you can only re-book within 3 months and to the same destination. Not much room for movement there. It is apparently system regulation. They also have a tendency to re-time flights, my last flight was re-timed 3 times, and we're not talking an hour or two, it was five hours so you're potentially losing half a day. They slide in nicely from a price point perspective, in between Malaysia Airlines and Air Asia for flying to KL, but be prepared for a lot of phone calls, hold time, and uncertainty, as to whether you actually make it onto the plane at the time you thought you would, at the time of ticket purchase.
