Cathay Pacific review by Nicky 2016-01-11

Travelled with CP years ago and the service was excellent. It was an outstanding service and safety airline. We recently travelled from Brisbane to HKG and also return within a month. Service for both flights very disappointing. Not enough leg room, uncomfortable seats, and table sits on your legs when down. Food was very average. Inflight entertainment was uninspirational. On the day trip (and after the service) they ask you to put the blinds down and turn the lights off so people will sleep and cabin crew can take it easy? Not impressed as I want to look out the window. Crew were ok but not exceptional. No water taken around regularly. Used to get a welcome drink and drink on waking up with a refresher towel - doesn't happen anymore. To top it off my husband was burnt by a hot cup of tea and nobody came to get details of the incident. We won't be flying with CP anymore - very disappointing. It's only redeeming feature is the long term safety record which can't be ignored. Will go to a better airline eg Singapore Airlines next time we want to go to HKG. It's worth the stop in Singapore rather than putting up with old plane and lacklustre service.
