Booked a 1 way trip from Orlando to Boston for family of 4 due to the fact that it cost a fraction of what other airlines were charging. YOU MUST GO ON THEIR WEBSITE PRIOR TO BOOKING TO GET FAMILIAR WITH THE POLICIES AND FEES SO YOU CAN CALCULATE YOUR FINAL COST BEFORE BOOKING. Pros- -Even with the added fees, Spirit was much less expensive than other airlines -Smooth ride -On time -Luggage arrived in tact and on time -Easy purchase, check-in, boarding, etc. -Clean -Comfortable, reclining seats on our 2nd (longer) leg of the trip -Updates and reminders communicated well -Friendly staff -Options to save money, earn miles, etc... Cons- -MUST READ FINE PRINT, FOLLOW DIRECTIONS, AND AHEAD TO AVOID FEES THAT CAN FAR OUTWEIGH YOUR SAVINGS -1mo prior to flight, itinerary was changed, layover went from 2 to 4 hrs -Weight restrictions on checked luggage is 40lbs. -Seats on the 1st (1hr) leg were very thinly padded, too upright, non-reclining seats. Extremely uncomfortable. Extra fees for baggage, reserved seats, and food/drink, but IF YOU READ THE POLICIES AND PLAN AHEAD, SPIRIT IS STILL CHEAPER THAN OTHER AIRLINES, EVEN AFTER ADDED FEES.
