Qantas was an ok choice for my trans-tasman journey. The cabin is a bit dated but Excellent customer service. A solid flight but Air NZ Is a better option on this route.

I live in Sydney & have family In Westport Ct near New York so regularly travel to/from NYC. Having previously had to make a connection which a big hassle this time used Qantas SYD/JFK QF3/4 via AKL service which saved 3 hours journey time. Happy to highly recommend & both myself together with Connecticut family members will use this much superior flight in the future.

Travelled back from New Zealand in December on a code share with Air New Zealand. Air NZ to Melbourne then QF to Perth. Flight to Perth was delayed by 6 hours (surprise, surprise) but worse, even though I had a boarding pass with QF769 on it and have been a Qantas Club member for 20 years, they wouldn't allow me in the lounge because I booked the flight with Air NZ. The flight home with lunch slopped in a cardboard box and sassy stewardesses was all very poor. If Vanessa Hudson says she wants to improve the customer experience the message is absolutely not getting through to the front line workers. Just appalling airline and will always look for an alternative from now on. Oh, and by the way, ALL qantas staff should be required to take a flight on Air NZ to see how a great airline does it !! Just chalk and cheese

They are barely a full service carrier now. One of the worst airlines on earth. Have flown them for 40-years and watched their steady decline over the years since being privatised. Ruthless for-profit management squeeze maximum profit for minimal service at every turn. Now if in economy, they don’t even pretend to be providing any service. Cramped uncomfortable seats, terrible checkin and inflight service - if your flight has taken off and hasn’t been cancelled that is. Overt class discrimination now between economy and other classes. If you are not Business they behave like you are not welcome. Impossible to contact customer service if you have an issue; and watch out for being bumped to their LCC Jetstar who are much worse! Living in Australia Qantass are one of the most hated companies in the country. Avoid!

The multiple legs of travel done with Qantas over the past few months has been some of the worst experiences in travel I’ve had period. The staff are unable to answer simple questions and give completely wrong and Contradictory answers. Flights have been delayed with no explanation or updates given to passengers. Staff are sassy, rude and confrontational when asking for help. This trip will be my last with Qantas. I feel like me and the passengers were treated like cattle.

Booked using QFF points in September 22 for trip in May 23. Had a booking reference, emails advising of updates to flights , showing showing in my App. Got to check in to be told we owe $1050.00. Had to pay it to get on plane. We are so disappointed but grateful I guess that we had saved some money for the holiday that we could use to at least get there to spend time with my family.

I flew with Qantas from Singapore to Melbourne on the overnight flight - red eye they call it. On take-off at night, Qantas does not dim or turn off the bright cabin lights. This is disappointing and not safe. There was no proper supper service as such, with no wines or beer offered, we were just HANDED a hot cardboard box that contained a horrible pastry thing that I could not eat. The serving trays are gone. I threw it away. Qantas has NO mask mandate (apparently customers complained, so they scrapped it - making money is more important than protecting passengers from COVID). Many people were coughing and there was very little actual service from the attendants. The seats are smaller now. The heating was turned low for the flight and it was quite cold on board. The plane was an old A330. I think it is time to update. The breakfast served was quite fine thank you. I caught Covid-19 so I was NOT happy with this flight - considering MANY people were coughing. I will NOT fly Qantas ever again.

Qantas cancelled our flight two years ago and still has not refunded us the hundreds of dollars in excess baggage we paid for. I've spoken to them about this many times, and they don't deny they owe us the money; they just say someone will get back to us about it, and no one ever does. Any time I phone they say they have no record of any of the hours and hours I've spent on the phone with them before, and say they need all the information again. If I have a reference number from the last call, when I call again they say the number doesn't refer to anything and they have no record of the case. The worst customer service I've ever encountered, and it's cost us money we couldn't spare - but they really don't care. Avoid at all costs.

Over the years I have flown with Qantas and other Australian airlines within Australia and overseas. I am a Gold FF so do benefit from accessing the lounge in Australia and New Zealand. My recent flight from Melbourne to Auckland is pretty typical of what you can expect with limited competition. Qantas only use B737 on this service so you're not getting state of the art planes they are older aircraft and for what they charge is pretty average for a 3 1/2 hour flight. Flight crew are friendly and professional if not a bit too serious at times. The food is quite disappointing in economy, certainly not Neil Perry quality. You do get free alcohol so if you're a big drinker then this probably represents good value for money. No WIFI which is pathetic for a major airline these days. You do get an average entertainment system with some movies but overall very disappointing compared with other airlines. They didn't lose my luggage but the flight out of Melbourne was delayed by an hour.

We double booked a flight for an employee so we cancelled one flight. Over the last 9 weeks I have been assured 2 times by the Qantas helpdesk that a flight has been cancelled. Today I received a flight confirmation notification clearly showing that the flight has not been cancelled. Upon calling I was notified that I was not able to cancel the flight despite being the person who made the booking and also being clearly shown as the booking contact. Even if we do get this flight cancelled before it will take 6-8 weeks to receive a refund. Qantas are a joke.

I tried to book online and the website crashed. I called Qantas and booked directly, the agent entered my name (Warner, not exactly unusual) incorrectly despite me spelling it twice. After hours over many phone calls (and many broken promises to call back), Qantas tell me that the name can't be changed, and the seats are no longer available anyway, so my only option is to cancel and get a refund. Qantas used to have good customer service, but after their COVID layoffs, there is noone left who is able (or cares enough) to fix this kind of problem. I won't be flying Qantas for a while. If you have to, absolutely do not book direct. Use a travel agent.

Flew with Qantas from Brisbane to Los Angeles in August. The crew on board the flight was amazing. Their customer service was exellent. Didn't have any issues with baggage or check-in which was in the news a few months ago. Covid was hard on all the airlines around the world, especially our national carrier. There's a long way to go before we get back to pre-covid flying but Qantas is handling it very well. Food was great on board and the crew came through regularly with water and some snacks. Watched the new Top Gun movie and had a good sleep. Toilets and floors were regularly checked for rubbish and picked up by staff. Great job! Thanks for the amazing flight!

Qantas cancelled my flight due to COVID. The flight was exchanged for a voucher. However, it is impossible to actually use the voucher and book my ticket. I am not allowed to book online and get a message saying I must call Qantas. But Qantas don't pick up the telephone. I've waited hours and, the one time I got through, was disconnected. I've written to their email address several time but just get a message saying that they will get back to me. My initial contact with them was on April 18th, 2022 but I still haven't heard anything back. Three months later it seems clear that they are not going to get back to me. I cannot visit their office since I live in Japan and there is not an office near me. I feel extremely frustrated at an airline that seems happy to take my money but is making it as difficult as possible to actually book the flight that I have already paid for.

QANTAS outsourced it's baggage handling yet now blame "not enough people" for the woeful baggage experience which we experienced from MEL to MCY 19th July 2022. Checked bags arrived a day late... The truth must be bad business management is to blame for the baggage fiasco. Qantas dont seem to understand that the baggage is a non negotiable part of the items paid to transport. After 20 years with qantas loyalty gone now.

I've unfortunately had to deal with Qantas probably 10 times over the last 2 years - and it is just an awful experience - telephone hold times of 2-3 hours, customer service staff don't do what they say will do (refunds - have to chase every time). I appreciate COVID was unexpected - but we're now over 2 years living with COVID - still 2 hour wait times. Clearly a business decision has been made somewhere to not hire additional customer service staff and save costs. As a result I've spent 20-30 hours of my time attempting to resolve issues that should either have been done automatically without my intervention - or the option to do online. I will never use Qantas again - enough is enough.

Qantas continues its down slide . Qantas club lounges grossly understaffed and services and offerings cut to the bone. No ticket counter or services at the airport if you have a query want to book a ticket or change something you have to call the call centre or use your own device. Appalling customer service. Time for a CEO change as QFs profitability cant be expected to change with standards that are frankly an embarrassment of our National Flag Carrier.

We made a booking with Qantas Frequent Flyer points for travel for two from Perth to Hobart. We were charged 222,600 Frequent Flyer points. At the time of the website booking we considered the points charged as excessive. We raised written queries with Qantas prior to our departure which were ignored until just before our return to Perth. Upon our return to Perth we continued to seek clarification on the points charged, with a number of letters and emails. Qantas responded stating as we had “accepted and confirmed the booking....and travel has been completed...we are unable to refund the points.” What Qantas conveniently ignored however, was that we raised our concerns with them 27 days prior to our departure and no response was received until we had departed and our travel had practically concluded. Had they responded in a timely manner, we could have adjusted our travel dates or cancelled the booking and sought travel with an alternative airline. Our travel dates were completely flexible and the lack of a response from Qantas deprived us of any opportunity to change our travel arrangements and mitigate the points charged.

Made a booking with Qantas Frequent Flyer points on 27 February 2021 for a domestic flight departing 9 April 2021. At the time, the website stated that I had enough points and accepted the booking. The following day I receive an a "no reply" email from Qantas asking to call them about the booking. It was impossible to get through on the phone. The Qantas website continues to show that my booking is confirmed. On the day of the flight, I receive a voicemail asking me to call Qantas. I tried to call back and was still on hold hours later when I arrived at the airport. The customer service rep at the airport advises that I do not have a reservation because I did not have enough Qantas points at the time of booking 2 months ago. I was required to pay over $700 to make an on-the-spot reservation. I've been through the complaints process with Qantas and they have refused any compensation or refund. Abysmal customer service. They need to update their website interface so it can process bookings and reflect their status accurately.

Qantas cancelled return flight from Queenstown to Brisbane just 24hrs before departure. Offered flight 2 days later (cost @ our expense), refund ( too late to cxl tours, car hire, accomm) or fly earlier via Sydney. Airlines need to stop offering flights when they know there will not be enough passengers and can then bump you off to another one of their flights within Australia and no consideration to passengers.

QF651 Sydney to Perth on evening 4 June 2021 was well below business class standard. Firstly, the plane had stored a raft in one of the overhead lockers above business row 3. As no passengers were allowed to store bags in this locker, the stewards had to cram bags in numerous lockers causing confusion and I had to call out to distribute the bags to various passengers before I could remove my bags on arrival in Perth. The raft took up 16% of the space that should have been available to passengers. Business class passengers pay a lot of money for these flights and should not have the storage space to which they are entitled denied to them. This did not occur on our flight from Perth to Sydney so why was it necessary on this flight! We then found there were no headphones in any business class seats. On request the stewards could only give us the poorer quality economy headphones. To cap it off, the food options were so poor, some of the business class passengers opted for the economy meals instead.

Disappointing flying Qantas recently. Picked seats for the trip but their ground staff assigned different ones. Worst possible on a long haul flight from SYD to Dallas!. Little recline as it was right at the back with the toilet behind and seats just in front, could recline fully! The passengers in front almost had their heads on our laps! Couldn't sleep through this 16 hour journey badly jet lagged after. On my return journey I picked seats but had to pay extra for an ordinary seat. $90 for the two of us!. Their newer planes are cramped, seats so narrow there was barely space to move. Stewardesses were unfriendly, unhelpful rude no notion of customer service. 'Their initial video about "call the stewardess" if you drop something is a farce. Total lie. She turned up and directed me to search for the lost item. When I went to the toilet I could see them chatting and eating the plane food. No regard for passengers. Not given the meal in between . Food also made me sick afterwards.

I've wanted to fly Qantas since I watched Rain Man a long time ago. HUGE Mistake! We planned a trip all about the Coast - Flying into Sydney for 5 days then Cairns for 4 and Melbourne for 5 more. Our clothing bag was delayed from Dallas for 6 days! We spent hours on phone holds and in baggage lines trying to get this bag. (About $150 AUD will not replace day clothing, even clothing, swim suits, toiletries etc. so we spent our own money.) BUT to add insult to injury, we needed to add a bag on our return trip home because we had to purchase the new luggage bag and extra clothing to get us through the 6 day delay - Qantas refunded to waive the additional bag fee. They insisted on charging us an extra $120 USD to send home the bag and clothing we had to buy at our own expense because of their mistake. Seriously? Do not fly Qantas. You truly do not want to experience this mess and complete lack of customer service.

Flew Business class Singapore to Melbourne on the Airbus A380. Overall a horrible experience. Interior is old and falling apart, entertainment systems just popped up all over the place on take off and landing, bits of the seats fell off too. Food not much better than Economy. Staff were generally rude, looked tired and over it. Flat bed mattress on the A380 was worn and had holes in it. Qantas business lounge was packed, food was cold. Disorganized boarding service, no priority boarding for business class, they were processing all passengers at the same time. Not a care given. Both Emirates and Singapore Airlines offer an exceptional product on this route for generally the same price, with exceptional lounges whereas Qantas is a really horrible experience. I wouldn’t fly this airline again unless I fly on points for free and even then I will attempt to spent those points on a partnered airline.

Worst experience ever. Left Bologna destination Sydney. One-stop: Dubai. The first flight operated by Emirates while the second flight by Qantas. Very surprised I only get one boarding pass Bologna-Dubai.Confused, I asked the staff member why, He said, I cannot get you the second boarding pass because is operated by Qantas.Dubai, I went straight to their desk. When her supervisor came she told me, there was an overbooking so she couldn't give me the boarding pass for the flight I paid for. I asked what was happening next, she said she didn't know and I had to call my agency to fix it. Stressed out about the situation without any resolution I start to cry and I asked to help me. She said she was going to put me in the next flight 10 hours later.I asked if I meant to have accommodation for the discomfort. She said we got beautiful couches on the second floor on the right! Finally, I got on the second flight,I asked the cabin crew to have some water she reply I had to sit down and wait because I was one on 500 passengers and she was by her self. Qantas has been my favourite airline so far from wine to liquor, I believe as economy passengers we do not have a variety of meal to choose from as it is done at the catering company the the airport hires (in sector country), for Singapore it is SATS Catering, Melbourne is Gate Gourmet Catering or dnata Catering. I am looking forward to fly again with Qantas, having either sparkling, white or red to pair with my meal and their warm cheery smiles.

I found the meals averaged each other out. The first was great, the one prior to landing, not so much. Overall the service, entertainment and professionalism made this a pleasant flight. This is a pre take of review. I am flying to the US soon, and have done the transpacific route at least 30 times, having lived in the US for 15 years. In that time have used UA, Delta, ANZ, Air Nui, Singapore, Cathay, VA, QF also... In the past QF and VA were always a pleasure to board at LAX if for no other reason than the "G'day" factor making you feel right at home. However, prior to this flight I have asked QF to change my Per-Mel leg to a flight earlier that day. So after waiting for 2 calls, more than 30 minutes each, I tried the option of texting.. They came up with a change fee of, wait for it, $2641.64. Not just the $200 + $85 change fee. NO amount of texting could resolve this and all I got was PLATITUDES about "I can tell you are upset with this""" NO Calls, no offer to help...I now HAVE to take this FLight AJ doesn't care how much he runs this once world class airline down. It is now all about Greed and Avarice. Shame on you QF.

Flight from Singapore to Perth on an old recycled A330 (was previously used by Jetstar dating back to 2007). The plane is outdated, seats are tired and no fixed monitors in the headrests, using attachable Ipads). The service by the crew was reasonable, however, not as good as many competitors. The Qantas crew appear to have the attitude of 1970s style school teachers, a sense of self importance and on the authoritarian side, rather than hospitality staff. Meals and drinks are definitely well short on expectations for a full service national carrier. Warm bottled water in the back of seat rest, really? Staff too busy to service? Tea and Coffee served in paper cups... What about the environment? On a positive note, the plane departed and arrived precisely on schedule, which was pleasing. Whilst Qantas continues to use Terminal 3 for international flights which is poorly resourced, I will not fly with them again.

When will qantas treat passengerS flying from Perth to a decent plane. I, and others I spoke to are rather peeved that we have to squeeze into a 737 for this long flight, both to and from Sydney. To rub it in we had to board via stairs in the dam rain and found there was no entertainment unless one brought their own. We had a 10:30 pm flight out of LAX to Sydney - We arrived at the airport 3 hours early to find out our flight had been delayed to the following morning. They said it was due to being short one pilot but being in the LA hub how hard would it be to find a pilot. Since there were A LOT of open seats I would say they were trying to save a buck at our expense. After complaining to the person in charge they put us on a flight to Melbourne that night with a connecting flight to Sydney. Myself and many others who switched flights via Melbourne and Brisbane made it on Friday but without our luggage. Qantas left over 200 bags at LAX because they did not put enough fuel on the plane .... Nice excuse. Qantas did NOT even bother to notify any of us until we waited at baggage claim for 30 minutes. You would think Qantas would want to do everything possible to make up for the flight delay and luggage issues but nothing, other than " did you purchase travel insurance "?

When it came time for dessert, I was told that a vegan dessert hadn't been loaded for me (despite having supplied my vegan entree and main) and they frantically looked through the cabin and came back with a very cold and hard muffin in a paper patty case and served me that. Incredibly disappointing. I've been served this same muffin in economy on domestic flights, and this was not what I expected for first class international. On my return from Dallas, I noticed that the catering was completely different, no signature cocktails, fewer breakfast choices and a particularly poor standard of catering. While I can't fault the seat or the service, Qantas needs to up their game when it comes to catering and accept that veganism is on the rise and we also expect exceptional meals, and if this is something that Neil Perry can't do they need to look to another chef to provide culinary expertise. Also, catering out of the USA is dismal, I've flown out of three ports with Qantas (SFO, LAX & DFW) and the food is better on domestic flights within Australia, particularly for a vegan!
