Where do I even start the rant from? The leg space in standard seats were designed for dwarfs I think. Staff is very unfriendly. Can’t count how many times I was woken up by staff and their trolleys hitting random body parts while sleeping (and it’s extremely hard for me to fall asleep on plane). They’re not there to ensure your comfort. They’re rude and feels like they do you a favour every time you ask for something. The food is a joke, my 12 year old can cook a better dinner, disgusting, gives you terrible gas. Do not choose this airline, there are much better ones, with free wi fi too. Thank you NOT aer lingus

I missed my flight from AMS Amsterdam to DUB Dublin because I could not get my boarding pass unless I stood in line at the Check-in/Ticket Counter. The real problems were the Kiosks available for passengers who can print their own boarding passes did not have the Aer Lingus app and there was only ONE PERSON at the Check-in/Ticket Counter, with a line of passengers that was very long, and I had arrived nearly 3 hours before my flight was scheduled to depart. I missed my flight, came back to the Check-in/Ticket Counter and there was no one there. Aer Lingus basically made me miss my flight then abandoned me at an airport in a foreign country. Two AMS representatives got me over to SwissPort which is affiliated with Aer Lingus. SwissPort got me on another flight to get home to LAX Los Angeles. I was on my feet for 8 hours during this whole ordeal and got home very late. I found out later that Aer Lingus has a reputation for passengers missing flights, small staff of employees at many locations, and NOT GIVING A DAMN about their passengers. I strongly advise: Stay away from Aer Lingus!

I flew two weeks ago, and my bag never arrived. This has never happened to me with any other airline, and I have travelled with many from BA and Emirates to Ryanair (another Irish airline). And even though most of my belongings were in the bag because I was traveling for a university exchange, the worst part is the fact I have not heard back from the airline. Not once! I have emailed and they have not even acknowledged receipt. Myself, both my parents and several other relatives have been calling for the past two weeks, all going through the proper process and leaving voice mail and still nothing at all. This must have been one of the most distressing experiences of my life. Do bags get lost? Yes, mistakes are made. But that doesn't mean I should not be able to reach the airline for two weeks, especially after I was told my bags would be with me within 24 hours of logging them as missing. Having to put my entire family through this anxiety inducing experience honestly pains me. The service has been unacceptable and honestly a very nasty, traumatic experience to face, especially as a student.

They offered a steal of a deal during the pandemic. I knew I was gambling on most of the ticket fee, since it wasn't refundable, and I ended up having to cancel because hotels weren't open in Dublin at the time. They still owed me the $80 refund of the government fee. Aer Lingus claimed they had 'unprecedented volumes' and were overwhelmed. If they had half a brain they'd know that by offering all these flash sales during a pandemic they'd need to be able to handle cancellations and rebookings. I emailed them 3 times, no response. Six weeks later and no refund. Needless to say, I'll never give them any more of my money.

Although there was a huge queue for the passport control at Amsterdam Airport and had to spend 45 minutes in security lines, I managed to get to the gate 15 minutes before departure time, but the assistant didn't let me on board, as the door was already closed even though people were stuck at airport control. They ruined my birthday weekend with my family. Totally inhuman treatment and they refuse to give any refund, the customer service is not available during weekends and during weekdays after 20 minutes waiting time they hang up if they receive a complaint. WORST company ever!!!

Aer lingus you are the worst air line I have ever dealt with and should be embarrassed of your customer service. Not only is your airport lounge pathetic but you guys lost my luggage and nobody appears to take accountability. I been missing my luggage for the past 10 days called several times(DUBEI54186). Wasting money and time. Just to be lied to and been accused of lying which makes me extremely angry. Was promised that my luggage would be delivered on Saturday(22.06). Was promised three supervisor call backs and nobody feels responsible. also the airport lounge is terrible. Don´t go there. Waste of money!!

Extraordinary! I was one of the thousands that had been stranded by WOW airlines abroad. A lot of articles suggested Icelandair, they had you open a case, send all your personal information to prove you had paid already & told you to call to get a discounted rate as a rescue fair (the fair provided to me would have caused me to miss my flight within the states back home and been more than I could purchase for a normal flight on the open market through other carriers). I called Aer Lingus (https://www.aerlingus.com/html/home.html) and asked if they were giving discounted rates, they were sympathetic, got me on a flight I needed not to miss my instate flight back home and gave me a discount with out jumping through hoops. They really were there for the stranded Americans abroad. And, I flew on 4 different carriers during my travel trip abroad and they were absolutely the BEST! I had a very comfortable almost 8hour flight from Dublin Airport to Newark International Airport. I highly recommend this carrier! Go Aer Lingus!

Booked return flights from Dublin (DUB) to Denver, via Chicago (ORD) with Aer Lingus. Flew Aer Lingus Dublin-Chicago and partner airline (UA) for internal US flights. On arrival in ORD, T5, had to transfer to T1 (monorail out of service, bus transfer only) but on arrival in T1 was informed that my connecting flight had been cancelled - no warning, no email, no text, nothing! Very friendly UA staff had no other flight to offer but arranged alternative AA flight for me much later that evening, but now had to go to T3!! Turns out, our bags got to Denver 3 or 4 hours before we did - how did that happen?!?!! When returning home, the ORD to DUB flight was delayed 4 hours, again, no contact from Aer Lingus, no explanation. I wrote to Aer Lingus (both email and post) 7 times - not as much as an acknowledgement, no explanation, no apology and absolutely no compensation! Dreadful service.

This was my first time flying with Aer Lingus. I have flown on many airlines all over the world and this flight was one of the worst flights have ever experienced. On both legs of the flight the staff were rude, and on my first leg of the flight the plane itself was obviously not well maintained. It was dirty, my seat did not recline, and weirdest of all there was a gaping hole in between my seat and the window - which dropped down into the pit of the plane. If you make the mistake of falling asleep and your phone dropping from your lap to the floor as I did, you can lose your phone into the gaping hole in the airplane. I tried calling their customer service to explain the situation and they all spoke to me like I was an idiot and just repeated that they were not responsible for my lost property, then finally directed me toward an online lost item submission form...which yielded the same answer. I recommend avoiding this airline at all costs.

I fly 3+ times a year internationally and this was my first time flying Aer Lingus. The transatlantic flight from Seattle to Dublin was delayed, awfully dirty and the seats wouldn't recline. The staff was impolite. The domestic flight from Dublin to Birmingham was worse; the management was a mess. As I was getting through security, the airline updated the monitors that the flight had left, whereas they hadn't even started boarding. Thee were always unaccessible whenever I reached out. This flight was cheap and the food (on the transatlantic carrier only) was good but the pros are not worth the hassle. I would recommend finding a better airline. Their organization is a mess and they are unreliable. You get what you pay for. If you do decide to fly through them, get travel insurance and cover your bases. Good luck!

Don't fly with them if you can avoid it. Horrible experience with Aer Lingus. I have flown with them 4x and the first 3 were great. I noticed a decline in their service and appearance of the plane. The plane was dirty and old, and the attendants were snooty and could hardly bother themselves to help you. My trip that I was planning for 6 mos with my daughters was cut short by a day because my flight was cancelled due to mechanical errors. We were able to get on a flight for the next day, but I lost $400 on hotel rooms for the night we lost. And they will do nothing about it. They rejected my claims. So you will be taking a chance on anything pre-paid and your flight does not take off when it was scheduled

My wife and I had paid in advance for window seats to and from Dublin. Upon leaving to come back to the US, we were seated in the middle. Crying kids in front of us and beside us. I had picked up toys being tossed by kids, bottles rolling on the floor.. We had no sleep on our return to the US. The stewardess were not at all helpful in making even an attempt to reseat my wife and I. I've contacted Customer Care of Aer LIngus several times with only a message saying that we will contact you shortly! Well, shortly has been nearly two months later. It was a Great flight and loved Ireland.. We did not get what we had paid for.... No help from the stewardess and even making an attempt to reseat us/or even compensate us.. The Customer Care doesn't even care about our issue's. I've requested their corporate address/email..phone number..but as usual no one has made any contact! I DOUBT that I would ever choose this air line to travel back to Ireland... Very DISAPPOINTED with you Aer Lingus. Lets see how long it takes now to hear from someone....

DUB-MAN A320 A short one hour flight from Dublin to Manchester, the single class A320 decked out in blue interior. I was expecting more green. self check in and bag tag as is the standard in lots of UK/EU airports, quick and almost simple except having to weigh the bag, print the tag and then re-weigh the bag. But overall simple once we worked it out. Being someones birthday we paid for Aer Lingus lounge access, the lounge was basic but pleasant, no hot food other than soup. No sandwiches, but pasties, biscuits, nuts and other snacks. Fresh fruit also available. Departed on time and with only 35 minutes in the air the 60 minute flight time seems to allow for congestion at MAN. Pre-booked exit row seats and they were the standard type and fine for the short flight. Buy on board for all food and beverage so we didn't bother with anything, but there was the standard prepacked sandwiches, noodles and snacks. All food and beverage prices are in € and can be paid with cash or card. Staff on board were pleasant, and chatty; which is good as there is no IFE. Overall a decent flight with no dramas.

I flew to Madrid, Spain and the airline left all the bags behind. I arrived in Madrid on Sept 5 and did not get my bags until three days later. Staff were rude and sarcastic when asking for basic help. Handset didn't work for my son. None of our screens were able to show the maps feature. I pre-booked a child's meal in advance but he was given an normal meal instead. I had my reference number from booking the child's meal on line but that was dismissed. My son was treated rudely by a couple of members of staff and we were even subjected to smart alec quips when we had asked for genuine help. Our flight was July 26th from Dublin to Chicago, flight no. 125. Previously when I queried in a reasonable manner why our flight had been delayed on hour before boarding I was chided by the lady behind the desk that I should have checked my flight times when I had checked in. This was absolutely and totally offensive behaviour. After this whole experience, my family will not wish to use Aer Lingus for long haul flights in the future.

Travelled to Burgas recently from Dublin. Aer Lingus had us wait for almost 3 hours as their policy seems to have every traveller queue in the same line no matter where you are going. Eventually we were called to the front of the queue as the plane was boarding. What a disaster. The return flight from Burgas was delayed by an hour and a half and it seems this is a regular occurrence with this particular Saturday evening flight. Of course Aer Lingus managed to squeeze inside the 2 hour compensation for delay..

Worst customer service- EVER. Potential future fliers: please read this in its entirety- you will thank me later for avoiding this airline. They lost our bags over two weeks ago, and they never communicate anything. I've exhausted myself making multiple phone calls, most of which end in "we're not sure, you'll have to call back later" or worse yet, "we're not sure, we'll call you back" and then NOTHING- why I have to be the one making 100% of the effort to keep open communication in the first place I can only chalk up to laziness or fear of admitting incompetence. One of the representatives told me they found the bags and that they would be on the next flight out, and then the next day I called and spoke to someone else, confused as to why I was told that because it had not been found. It was at this point that I learned it was best to start making note of the names of the employees, if only for SOME level of accountability. They eventually found one bag a few days later and sent it back, but no word on the other. In the meantime, to demonstrate their level of disorganization, on their own website, both bags still say "TRACING CONTINUES. PLEASE CHECK BACK LATER" even though they se

My boyfriend and I both had food poisoning from the pasta bolognese we receive in flight. We were sick for 24 hours after our flight and it took several days for our stomach's to feel settled again. My parents and sister were on the flight and had the chicken and potatoes and were fine, but we were not fine. After this experience we will never fly with Aer Lingus again, as we never want to experience to pain we went through after eating our meal. To top it all off, my dad's in-flight entertainment would not work. His screen was frozen and he was unable to watch movies, listen to music or play games his entire flight. He mentioned in to the flight attendants, who did not seem to care or listen that his was broken and made no attempt to help him. We also were unable to check in online, as there was a problem with the service. When we got to check in, we got asked if we could check in online and we said no and we got asked why, as we should be doing that and they didn't seem to care that we tried every hour prior to leaving for the airport and kept getting the same error and were unable to check in.

Our flights between Boston to Dublin and Dublin to Venice were very pleasant and uneventful. Unfortunately our flight from Rome to Dublin in July 3 wasn't as pleasant. My seat had dried chocolate smeared on it and my tray table was very dirty but the real problem that I experienced was that your company charges for water. I do understand that snacks and beverages are often charged for but after a 45 minute delay ( due to baggage issues) after boarding on a 90 degree Fahrenheit Day I truly thought that it would have been more than reasonable to beable to get a free cup of water that didn't come out of the airplane tap. This is an issue that corporate should discuss. Otherwise I have never had any issues with your flights.

I traveled to Ireland on June email 21st. and returned to the US on June 28th. Flying with Aer Linus was exceptional. The food was good, the flight attendants were helpful, the flight was smooth. Going over, there were no issues. Coming home there were not enough blankets for everyone . The cabin we very cold. There was a baby screaming from the start of the flight to touchdown. One of the attendants walked up and down the aisle several times carrying the baby to calm him down. All in all I will travel with Aer Lingus again.

Yesterday we boarded an Aer Lingus flight and were told that there were no places available for my husband and me to sit together, even though we booked our tickes together. They said we should have pre selected our seats online. Now the only option we had was to pay 55 euros per person extra. We've taken more than 100 flights and have NEVER seen this situation. We were not warned that if we didn't select our seats online we might not be sitting together. Even with the cheapest budget airlines we always got seats together. After we paid, and boarded the plane, we saw there were actually many seats available where we could sit together. We will never ever use this airline again. I think it's outrageous how they treat their customers.

We were 5 minutes late to SECURITY CHECK not even the boarding of our flight.......we were in London and united airlines said "if y'all can get your tickets released from aer lingus we will be able to put y'all on a different flight" well aer lingus wouldn't release our tickets because supposedly they would lose a lot of money.....so we had to pay $4000 to travel the next day.......so we flew to Dublin and stayed in a hotel and had to spend a lot of money because aer lingus sucks ass. So today we flew from Dublin to New York. AER lingus literally JUST located my luggage that has been lost but they are being vague on where the luggage is. They also lost half of our groups luggage today including my moms and brothers. AER lingus also failed to actually put me and my mom and brother on the connecting flight to memphis so we went to united and they tried their hardest to fix AER lingus's fuck ups. So we are on standby to go on the LAST flight to memphis tonight and if we can't get on that flight than we have to fucking be here another day and we leave for memphis tomorrow morning.... this is ridiculous! AER lingus clearly doesn't have their shit together.

I felt compelled to message Aer Lingus to let them know about one of their amazing employees: Emmanuel in the JFK airport in NYC! My family and I planned a trip to Ireland in memory of my late father who passed last year - a special trip I was very excited for. Unfortunately, on my way to the airport, I came across a significant number of issues getting to the airport and came extremely close to missing my flight. When I was panicking and worried sick that I'd miss a good portion of my family's special vacation, I think God sent me Emmanuel. He was calm, collected, and did every single thing he possibly could to make sure I made the flight; had it not been for Emmanuel there's no doubt I would've missed my flight. Please know, he made my day and I'm so grateful for the amazing Aer Lingus employee he was on May 19th!

My flight was from JFK to Shannon, a baggage truck hit the plane while we were still at the gate but they kept us waiting for over 3 hours and then deplaned us into an empty terminal after midnight with a $20 meal voucher and a letter instructing us to rebook on the 800 number after 8 am. 300 of us were stranded - 45 rooms in NJ and a few cots at the airport, and we couldn't get to our luggage without getting locked out downstairs in baggage. When it became clear at 4 am that no one in Dublin would be answering the 800 number, the lone rep helping us went rogue & got onto another airlines computer and rebooked about 2 dozen of us. We were the only ones who got out 24 hours later, because no one else could get rebooked until the afternoon shift arrived the next day. Totally inexcusable, I won't fly them again.

From the moment I booked my trip with this cheap airline it has been nothing but a nightmare. My family booked a trip this May to Europe and we were charged for tickets that were never purchased leaving us to file claims with our banks. A misspelling in a name almost cost us $1200 rather than try and help us we had to fight 5 hours on the phone before the woman handling our situation told us "next time spell your name right and nobody would have noticed anyway." Rude staff, very poor customer service. I paid good money to fly with this airline and I was treated with no respect. It is a horror to get in touch with anyone at this airline. Only fly if you have no other choice. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra money to fly with a reputable airline! I will never fly with this company again and I advise you to save yourself the headache. Jet Blue is now handling Aer Lingus' mistake because nobody can reach this horrible, poorly serviced company. My family and I are disgusted in the way this airline treated us. Use caution when booking this airline and only book if you absolutely have no other choice.

Fly with Aer Lingus really because we dont have much choice. Flew izmir to dublin 23rd may 17. Got trapped in the hot sweaty boarding tunnel for 20 mins. Plane was delayed for 30 mins and flight was decent enough. Seats are very cramped. We didnt bring hold luggage as its very expensive YET we were told we could put our hand luggage in the hold FREE OF CHARGE?????? There is no consistency with Aer Lingus. We know we are being ripped off on luggage costs. When we got to Dublin airport. We had to leave the plane down steps. Walk across tarmac to main building and then TREK A THIRD OF A MILE to passport control. We are reasonably fit and found it unpleasant to do this hike. What must it have been like for older less fit folk? Aer Lingus are losing it and we would never willingly use them if we had an alternative. What a shame. As much as I wanna support my home countries main airline, I just can't anymore every time I fly with them it just gets worse, the planes are getting scruffy, the staff are getting more bitchy and miserable looking and the overall experience just isn't worth it ! Can't wait for Norwegian to start so we have more trans atlantic options. Any airline can do it's job of getting someone from a to b but the customer service is what really makes it, aer lingus sort it out, Ryanair has better service on a 30minute flight than you guys give on a transatlantic flight that we pay a lot of money for.

I found the flight to be very tight. The seats were tight, the aisle was tight and the under seat storage was terrible. The only seats that have unobstructed storage underneath are the window seats. The middle seats were 75% obstructed by an electrical box and the aisle seats are 50% obstructed by a metal bar. Also, good luck sleeping on the aisle. Because the aisle is so narrow, you will be bumped by people walking by. My seat was missing an arm rest cover causing metal edges to be exposed. I placed my pillow over the arm rest for 6 hours. My wife's seat didn't have padding so she sat on a hard seat for 6 hours. It's time for these planes to be retired. We flew on a 757-200 out of Hartford CT.

I am not sure who is at fault. I am a vegetarian therefore I do ask for special meal when booking my flight. On the first leg of the flight going to Ireland I received a vegetarian meal ahead of everyone else. The meal was very good. On the fight home, from Dublin to New York I had to ask for a vegetarian meal and was told by the staff member there was no more meals all the meals were given out. I told the staff member that I order one when I book my fight and he had no response but to say there was no more meals. So I sat on the plant for about 7 hours with no food. I feel this is unacceptable for an airline. If my request was successful on the first fight to Ireland why was this not so for the trip home. I do hope I get an answer. Tina Basirico Not satisfy!!

We travelled from Dublin to Connecticut and back with our 8month old. I had been dreading the flight as I knew there were no bassinettes (plane too small) but staff on both flights went out of their way to make our journey as easy as possible for us. Flight attendants were able to shuffle seats so that we had a row of 3seats in both directions giving us more room for our baby and all that comes with him! One stewardess in particular (Clare) helped by bringing out our meals one at a time, offering a quiet seat in darkness during the flight to help get our baby to sleep, showing us how to use a blanket to create a wee 'tent' for our baby to help him sleep and by offering hot water if we needed. I was also able to breastfeed my baby on our descent in the quiet seat before moving back to my own for landing on the way home. We could not have asked for better service. I was on a flight from Dublin to JFK on March 15. I was seated in row 33. At the bulk head were several young men who were having a grand old time, drinking, talking, laughing and treating the plane as their local pub. At several times in the flight, the pilot asked people to take their seats because of oncoming turbulence. These young men continued to stand in the aisles and did not sit down. I then went to the back of the plane to speak with the flight attendants because the groups' loud talking was really keeping all of us awake...the flight attendants were eating their dinner and could have cared less that I was being disturbed. I noted that there were liability issues of this group standing when the seat belt sign was lighted, but the attendants could have cared less....they said there was nothing they could do!! Come on, these people were a problem, and if we had hit bad turbulence they would have been tossed around and hurt themselves or others. A bit later I noted one of the attendants partying with the group. At one point the attendants announced that there was no more liquor on the flight...wonder why??? I will not fly aer lingus again.

I was very excited to book this flight having typically flown Aer Lingus most of my life. I grew up in Dublin, and typically when I travel I would go with United out of Newark. United is typically good, but small planes. This flight from JFK to Shannon was a complete disaster. From not being able to check in online, to the EXTREMELY rude phone receptionist who we waited for over 43 minutes (twice, once we gave up) only to be told 'Well ye'll just have to stand in line with everyone else' and click, hung up. The seat we had was broken, and would not stay upright. The passenger behind seemed to find it funny to let it bounce every single time she got out of her seat and swung from it. When I complained, I was offered a paltry amount toward a future flight, then twice that paltry amount (so small it's not worth listing). Bottom line? Simply not worth it. The plane was very old, and not typical of the transatlantic fleet from Dublin to JFK. I am glad to see Aer Lingus is published as a Low-Cost Airline here. That about ranks where it deserves when you consider the other international carriers available. Flight staff good, customer service staff, grossly rude and inadequate

Truly horrible experience. Obnoxious check-in rep in Dublin, assured in advance my seat had been assigned but on arriving for flight informed it hadn't been and assigned a seat in the last row on flight to Toronto. Plane was digusting, an absolute embarrasment: filthy, stinking, knackered, uncomfortable and much too small for transatlantic travel. Rep not did not check me through to Montreal, assuring me I was supposed to check in myself in arrival, which is a first. I barely made my connecting flight, and the Air Canada staff in Toronto told me that not only should I have been checked through from Dublin, someone there had deleted my connecting flight from the record of my booking. Just a horrible experience, the worst flight of my middle-aged life. I complained on their FB page and they replied instantly in that public forum to apologise and ask me to contact them by private message. When I did this, I got a farcical non-response about my seat selection, ignoring the serious aspects of my complaint. If you look at the "visitor posts" on their FB page now, there are a total of 4 dating back to 21 December, all positive. They hide or delete all complaints. Reprehensible treatment.

Hot, bad food, broken entertainment system. Was bypassed for the last snack. The air freshener was chemical smelling.

Poor in flight entertainment, paying for wine on international flight? No way. Uncomfortable seats.

I have never reviewed an airline before, but felt compelled to this time. One of your workers on the flight to San Francisco from Dublin on the 26th of Decemebr 2016 and from San Francisco to Dublin on the 8th of January, was the best air steward my family and I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. His name is Michael, and nothing was too much for him. We had small kids in our group and he did everything and more to accommodate us and make the flight easier. Wish yous had a direct way of reviewing your service, so I could applaud him! Seriously would make me fly with Aer Lingus again. The male stewards were all lovely to my nieces. But he really stood out. Thank you very much for making a long flight bearable. Should seriously get a promotion or something.

Absolutely 100% THE WORST company and customer service I have EVER booked through. Our initial flight was taken off the site and no notification was ever sent to anyone from our group of 6. They booked us with a 55 Minute lay over and 3 customer representatives said we would have plenty of time to make our connecting flights. Then 3 others said we would have to cancel ASAP. Ruining our already booked plans in Barcelona and Greece. Then after hours on the phone and talking to over 6 customer representatives no one could give us a straight answer. After requesting a supervisor they basically said they have been on the phone with us too long and ended it (EXCUSE ME? THIS IS YOUR FAULT). Owner of my own business with hundreds of members and thousands of people in my personal network I will make sure 100% that everyone knows how HORRIBLE this companies customer service line is and how unorganized they are. To top it off I was finally granted a full refund due to their mistakes, 15 days later still no refund and I had to call AGAIN for the 7th time. This time I got a nice gentlemen who said he pushed the urgency of this case number to top of the line. Wow, you all must really F up a lot

my flight delayed out of dublin and as a result missed my connecting flight in washington dulles to louisville kentucky, aerlingus offered no help what so ever at the airport in washington, very poor attitude from staff, left to organise a hotel for the night at my own expense, as next flight was next day, as a result i missed important meeting, i logded a complaint with aerlingus to claim expenses etc on the 7/10/16 and to date no reply, and you cannot connect with the personell who deal with these matters, very poor system for dealing with complaints, or maybe they have so many off them ?

Absolutely dreadful airline. I'm Irish and have to use them often to commute to Europe. I pay the "Advantage" fare which is a lot more expensive and should include priority boarding and on line seat selection. Travelling from Paris to Dublinfor example it does not. Sullen grumpy staff. Aircraft always late. Planes interior dirty. A senior cabin attendent informed me the company does not clean the cabin on a turnaround. On transatlantic food is shamefully bad. You pay for any alcoholic beverages. Disgusting eexperience at a high price. NEVER fly this arrogant substandard airline!
