Took Lion Air from Bangkok to Krabi(return ) on 5th of July. Both flights on time.clean flights, adequate leg room and excellent cabin crew. Would recommend this airline.

the customer support is very not-helping but the flight is a fair one considering the price that is relatively low in pair of other flight(s).

This is the worst flight in my life. Almost 6 hours delay from Penang to Kuala Namu, Medan and crew on the gate desk didn't give a proper explanation. They ONLY gave us fried rice with an egg which was in super small portion (don't need to tell you the taste) and a cup of water, they delivered it 8.45pm when people already got hungry on 7.00pm. All of my friends already told me don't choose Lion Air like ever. I never believe them, know I do! I won't choose Lion Air again in the future, and if you want to choose this flights please think twice. Don't waste your time, you better spend a lil bit money for other great flights. Lion Air is the worse. I had my parents and my aunty and uncle with me, can you imagine how tired they were waiting for 6 hours without a proper explanation. From 1 to 10. Sorry not sorry I give 1 to Lion Air.

Lion Air is about the cheapest airline there is. Knowing that in advance, anyone who expect the service to equal a luxurious airline, is downright unreasonable (at least that's how I see it). I have been using their service on more than 100 trips so far and naturally, I have had my shares of delays and problems. But again, considering the price and the actual crash records, most of the time I still choose this airline. EDITORS COMMENT: We agree!

We flew Lion from Bangkok to Chang Mai, the aircraft was clean and flew near enough to schedule. Booking was not easy, we went through the on line booking procedure right up to paying and then it appeared that all was well, but then we were informed payment was not successful and to retain our booking I had to go to a Family Mart shop about a mile away and pay by cash and I only had 45 mins to do this, fortunately I made it! The actual flight was without problem, but while we were waiting to disembark we watched the luggage unloading procedure and were appalled at the way the luggage was handled and saw the way our brand new Samsonite cases were treated, they were taken off a conveyor and thrown on to a metal floored trailer and then it appeared they were being used as targets with other cases being hurled at our cases, they were both scratched to hell and finished up looking decidedly second hand. We would not use Thai Lion air again!!

This is the worst airline I have ever travelled and I have flown slot! They did not check my baggage all the wAy through to my destination and they lost my luggage. On the wAy back to my original destination they would only issue my boarding pass to Bangkok snd not Jakarta even though I am on their airline causing me to have to recheck in Bangkok. In the last three years I have been flying from Jakarta to Chiang Mai with any other airlines , they have always checked me all the way through. Is there s new rule I don't know about? This is ridiculous and I'll NEVER fly them again!!!! EDITORS COMMENT: This is a low cost carrier and they do not issue multiple boarding passes or push luggage through to your final destination. You have to do each leg as a separate segment and this includes collecting and re checking in checked baggage. You will find that most low cost carriers operate like this unless you pay extra to have your luggage go the whole way through.

Lion Air is a joke. My partner and I had to unfortunately take 3 flights with them within the span of 2 days... Never again. They ruined the end of my trip because most of it was spent at the airport in chaos. The first plane was from Lombok to Bali. This one was delayed by 3 hours and they got to a point where they just stopped updating passengers about what was going on. The second was the next day from Bali to Jakarta. They cancelled our first flight and changed it to another flight an hour later. The new flight was also delayed by another 30 minutes. Because of the cancellation and delay, we almost missed our connecting flight from Jakarta to Singapore... Also with Lion Air. What a joke. Upon arrival in Jakarta, there was no one there to guide us to the terminal to ensure we didn't miss our flight. The customer service staff at the arrival/connecting area had no idea what was going on and just sent us on our way to grab a shuttle to the next terminal... To which we got a phone call asking us where we were? As for the 3rd flight from Jakarta to Singapore, they had no running water in the bathroom to wash your hands with and apparently can't afford straws. AVOID

I had read reviews about Lion air night before we were supposed to fly. I got so scared of everything that people wrote here. (Can you imagine? ;) We flew from Bangkok to Phuket (round trip) and I have to say that both of our flights were more than fine. Staff was nice, flights were on time, arrivals as well. We got a small snack and watter on board. Everything went very smooth. :)

Best low cost airline in Thailand. BKK-LOE and BKK-HDY Value for money. Brand new 737-900. Friendly and helpful staff and crew. Planes always on time.( 5 out of 5 times for me ). Nothing to complain about. I believe you get much more than you can expect from a low budget airliner where the crew earns about 15.000THB a month. Will use again this April. And again in August. Nothing to worry about.

Nothing bad to say about them..Bangkok-Udon Thani r/t. Brand new airplanes , young friendly and very helpful crew. So cheap that you always feel bad and wondering what the crews salary is. Departure on time, arrived on time. Going again this April with Thai Lion Air

I have booked a flight with Lion Air from Denpasar (Bali) to Jakarta on the 2nd of march 2016. My actual flight was cancelled 2 days ago. The alternative flight was 50 minutes late, so that I was not able to catch my international flight to Singapore and therefore missed my connecting flight to Frankfurt. At the end I had to wait 24 hours at the Singapore airport!!! The ground staff at the domestic airport in Jakarta was completely overstrained by the situation. The customer service hotline in Singapore was not accessible - queuing for hours. Conclusion: Never ever again! Rather spend some little more money on AirAsia!

Very cheap price for this flight from singapre to bangkok. Brand new boeing 737-800 with comfortable seats. And i'm 6"5... No delay, free snack( oreo + water), optional menu with decent prices. No entertainment system but for 2h flights i'm not shocked. You can watch your tablet... Great low cost airline

HORRIBLE experience. 4 hour delay on a flight. Call center was useless and had me on hold on and off for 30 minutes; they also did not give me correct information. In-airport staff was rude and had 0 customer service. There are plenty of budget airlines in Thailand, do not use Thai Lion Air!!!! Absolutely worst airline experience.

I have used the services of lion and its offshoot carrier Wings a number of times in recent years; always for regional travel in Indonesia. Honestly must say I have never had a problem with either of these airlines; planes are clean; normally on time or within a few minutes; cabin crew efficient; checkin quick and easy. Please dont expect 5 star service from budget carriers!

Worst airline possible. Rude and unprofessional ground staff. Was delayed both to and return flights and staff don't even know how Long it would be delayed! Initial 1 hour delay became an eventual 4hour delay and caused me to miss the next connecting flight (which was the last flight out of Jakarta) and left me stranded at the airport... Never again for this airline.

Thai Lion Air ground crew are terrible in problem solving and have no sense of accountability. Unless there are no other flights in the world, and desperate to fly, then Thai Lion Air will be your choice.

This airline is never on time. You are guaranteed at least 1 hour delay for any of their domestic Indonesian flight. There have been many incidents where delays up to days and triggering passenger riots in recent months. There have also been many near miss with planes skidding, overshooting, freezing cabins etc. It's a miracle that nothing more catastrophic has happened yet, but it's just a matter of when.

Talking about Lion Air, means you are talking about long delays, unprofessional staffs with harsh words, new airplanes with little to no maintenance at all, and airline with no safety measure. Just try Googling it and you can find TONS of negative reviews and bad customer experience. They even have delays up to 3 days without any proper communication and passengers are left to sleep at airport without proper compensation.

Overall horrible customer service with this airline. First called to change my return flight and was told I couldn't do that without Thai credit card (is this an international airline?). Went to Don Maung airport desk as instructed and they also refused to help me until I called and made a fuss. All the while the flight fare change had increased 3000Baht! I'm now in a queue for the last 20 mins waiting to check in before they will change my return flight...Never again!

I booked a flight from bangkok DMK to Chian Mai, i did the booking 3 weeks before departing date i had the option for promo tickets anfd this was cheaper then traveling with the train 1450 baht round trip! There was no delay and the boeing 737-900er was brand new! So i booked also a round trip from Bangkok DMK to Surat Thani the flight to Surat Thani went also smooth however when i want to change my flight back to Bangkok DMK to a later time (same day 4 hours later becouse of the connection) this was only possible when i pay a charge of 1050baht per person!!! This was more then the actual price for a ticket to Bangkok DMK!!! And when i want to cancel to hole flight back to Bangkok DMK i get only a refund of 50baht per person :s this was 8 days before departure date!!! What i did i cancel the flight and booked the flight back with Air Asia, so that was my only bad experience with thai lion air! I lost around 1900baht (2person)

Flights from Bangkok (Don Muang) to Chiang Mai and back This must have been one of my best airline experiences ever and I have flown quite a bit in both economy and business. The check in went very smoothly with only limited and organised waiting. I must say that I was well on time and my luggage was well within limits which is rather important for low cost airlines. Whereas I had always been thinking that the ultimate flight attendants were those from Singapore Airlines I must admit I was wrong all that time... the Lion Air flight crew looks at least as charming and friendly! Unfortunately the flight is so short and there is no meal service so the interreaction is rather limited... Back to the flight itself: these were both very punctual: pull back even a few minutes before scheduled departure. Overall, there is nothing negative about this flight I can mention here. I appreciate that other people may have other experiences but it does not have to be all negative all the time.

Although it's the same group, thai lion air is highly NOT recommended. They don't have the option to add more weight for your luggage online, except the free 15 kg. And when u arrive at the airport, they will charge u a fortune for excess baggage that u don't even have the option to book in advance! Total ripped off, better to fly with airasia where you can select your preferred luggage weight!

By far the worst experience I have ever had with an airline. Was supposed to fly from lombok to denpasar on their wing air service at 11.45 to catch a connecting flight home to Ireland at 16.05 but the flight was delayed 7 hours and so I ended up missing my connecting flights from Denpasar and had to pay 900 euro for new flights. Not only was the communication from lionair during that time wholly inadequate, there was never any explanation for the delay nor was there any update on when the flight would arrive. Their staff in lombok were incompetent past the point of belief. I spent three hours in their office doing their job for them: finding out whether the plane had left from Denpasar and checking with my connecting airline to see if I could catch a later flight. It honestly seemed like they were all on their first day of the job. There were no protocols in place to deal with the situation and I eventually had to give up with them and pray that Malaysia Airlines would take me on the Denpasar side (it turned out to be too late when we arrived in Denpasar). I am deeply annoyed with the whole experience. Please take heed. Do not fly!! Pay the extra little bit for a reputable service

Beware when booking- make sure to uncheck the insurance. I normally don't fall for this kinda scam but i was in a hurry. I flew with Lion air before cuz it's cheap but damn...being a fool for this trap is not cool. I hope it was worth it for them. Money is not much but I will not be using them ever again, thanks

After our 90 minute delay (probably pretty good for Lion Air) we landed on Runway 25 Left in Jakarta which is 3660 metres. It was one of the fastest landings I have experienced and we needed most of the runway to pull up, using the last exit. A Boeing 737 should use about 1600 meters for its landing run. This an airline whose CEO said "we are the worst airline in the world but what choice have you got" With an attitude like that, they do not deserve our custom and that will be the last time for me.

I had read many negative comments about this airline so I was hesitant to fly with them. However when I was in Bangkok, I saw many travellers flyiing with them and decided to give them a try on my next flight. I flew with Thai Lion air from Chiang Mai- Bangkok and then Bangkok-Surat Thani and I was very pleased. I had booked last minute (2 days in advance) and encountered no difficulty with cancellations or flight time modifications. Check in was a breeze, they were even smiling. Baggage allowance included, 15 kg. Great price! Smooth landing. Friendly greeting upon arrival on board. My husband is very tall and with out asking, we were give emergency aisle seat on both flights for free. Would recommend this airline if you are booking last minute flights while travelling Thailand.

1. They cancelled my flight and sent me an email in Indonesian in which they put my connecting flights in the wrong order, making it look like they lined up. Flight was cancelled most likely simply because it didn't fill up. 2. Sent me an email in English 3 hours before my flight, telling me that my flights don't line up and I have to call in to confirm them. 3. When I called them, they told me that even though I would now have to spend a night in Jakarta, I would not be given a hotel room, I'd have to provide for myself. 4. When I was checking in my luggage, I was surprised to find out that I can only take 15kg of luggage instead of usual 20kg - which I see first time in years of travelling. I was told that I'd have to pay around $100 dollars for overweight - on each flight! 5. When I went to the manager to complain about the situation I've seen a line of customers who also got their tickets cancelled, and they were getting some letter that would grant them a hotel room. I asked them for my overweight luggage fee to be waived - which was granted. 6. I had to do a lot of screaming when checking into my connecting flight to get the promised to me luggage fee waiver. 7. During the flight, I wouldn't be given water, because they don't accept USD apparently. 8. When I got my luggage it was soaking wet.

I recently flew lion air from Singapore to Jakarta. They are the worst airline I have ever delt with. Their website give little to no info on baggage allowance, their staff took advantage of us and forced us to buy extra unneeded tickets from them, charged me 168$ for excess baggage of my scuba equipment, and then lost my luggage for what is now going on 3 days. I spent 4 hours at their head office where no on could help or do anything. They refused to refund my money for losing the bag and have forced us to stay in Jakarta for 2 additional days and incure cost like hotel, transport and food in a city we were only going to spend a night in. They ruined our vacation and the reviews you have listed for them are way too good. Their customer service reps have still not gotten back to me dispute multiple emails sent to them. Thanks for your time

We used Wings Air (owned by Lion Air) to fly from Denpasar (Bali) to Labuan Bajo. The plane was an ATR72 I think and was really new and comfortable! Everything was basic but at least all staff was speaking English. The first flight was really shaky because of the weather but we landed safely. No problem on the return flight. Do not try to call the local offices from local airports (all Indonesians will try to contact those first) but call directly the call center. Some staff speak really good English and we didn't have any issue changing our plane tickets over the phone. It was really quick and efficient! Thank you Lion Air!

I had a flight with Lion Air from Jakarta (CGK) to Jogjakarta (JOG) about two weeks ago. It was terrifying!! I wouldn't expect too much for food or entertainment as they serve nothing on these two service area. My great concern was the flight safety and schedule. Without any specific explanation or apology, they changed my return flight to Jakarta. I should have leave jogjakarta in 9.25 am, they changed my flight to a different flight number leaving jogjakarta in 13.25. They informed this change just three days before the flight. When asking for this change, their call center was always busy. The worst thing is happened when I landed in Jogjakarta Adisucipto... I was quiet worry when the plane was losing altitude too quickly before landing. It seems the pilot is not experienced and he seemed too afraid of running out of runway.. He went too low when it's about to reach the runway... I can feel he add throttle again to made it to reach the landing area. It resulted in a very rough landing.... women are screaming... I was afraid too as everyone was bouncing from their seat quite wildly... Thank God, the suspension gear didn't break and the plane finally stopped. The return flight was ok, smooth landing in Jakarta, although they changed my flight schedule without any explanation or apology.

I have flown Lion Air many times over last 7/8 years from Makassar to Denpasar en route from a mining company in Sulawesi to Perth as it was the only airline that met both the mine charter flight and the Perth flight schedules. Always had reservations due to their safety record, however for a short flight it has usually been acceptable. However as a tall person, the seat space is very poor and I could only sit in an angled position. On a recent flight a sympathetic flight attendant did move me to an exit aisle seat, however the next flight I did invest in the extra cost for a business class seat, which was quite comfortable, and quite cheap. There was no in-flight entertainment or food service.
