DO NOT EVER FLY SPIRIT AIRLINES. I knew that they were known for having delays, but just flat out cancelling flights for no apparent reason is not okay. My boyfriend got to the gate two hours early. HIs flight was delayed 20 minutes, then it was un-delayed, then delayed again. The plane finally lands thirty minutes later. They announce that they will not load the plane, or let the plane depart for another two hours because “there is no room in Chicago for the plane”. Two hours go by, and they still aren’t on the plane. At this point, he will have already missed his connecting flight. After a few more hours, they cancel his flight all together. They won’t get him on another flight because they overbook all of their flights. THERE WERE NO WEATHER ISSUES, NO REAL REASON FOR A FLIGHT TO BE CANCELLED. Now, thanks to the wonderful airline Spirit, Colby is stuck at a hotel overnight, and will have to spend 12AM on New Years day until 6AM in Boston by himself in a terminal. Moral of the story: DO NOT FLY SPIRIT AIRLINES.
