Beware Royal Jordanian. I’m a oneworld Emerald and paid $140 for two “2‑seat row” seats that turned out to be 3 seats. RJ admitted the mistake on Jan 13 and promised a refund, then reversed on Feb 10 and stopped responding. Deceptive airline—avoid them.

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Royal Jordanian Caused Me to Miss My Flight and pay around 500 Euro to fix damages. I had a flight from Amman to Naples on Wendesday, Aug 13, 2025 with a connection in Rome, scheduled to depart at 10:25 AM. I arrived at the airport around 8:30 AM, well before departure. Unfortunately, after a small incident where I spilled coffee on myself, I spent about 10 minutes in the bathroom changing before heading to check-in. When I arrived at the Royal Jordanian check-in area, the line was unbelievably long. There were multiple flights using the same lines, with no dedicated counter for my flight. Despite the crowd, I waited patiently in line. Around 9:20 AM, I asked one of the staff members if I would make it in time or if I should skip the line. He assured me that I should just wait like everyone else and that I would probably catch the flight. By 9:40 AM, concerned about time, I asked another staff member for help. This time, I was met with rudeness and told that I had arrived late and should have been at the airport three hours before departure. He refused to let me pass the line, saying the gate was about to close, and sent me elsewhere to “check if they can help.” I spent over 15 minutes arguing with other staff, trying to explain the situation. By this point, my flight was still at the gate and boarding had just started. Given the small size of Amman Airport, where the walk to the gate takes no more than four minutes, there was absolutely no reason I could not have boarded - except for the complete lack of cooperation from Royal Jordanian staff. I wasn’t the only one affected. I saw at least four other passengers - a couple and a father with his daughter - facing the same refusal and unhelpful attitude. A single staff member offering minimal assistance could have saved our trips, yet none showed any empathy or willingness to help. As a Palestinian traveler, I found this especially disappointing. We often cross borders into Jordan and spend significant amounts of money just to fly from this airport, and I would expect some understanding of the effort it takes for us to get there. Instead, I felt completely vulnerable and disregarded. In the end, I had to pay extra to change my flight to Milan (145 JOD) and then purchase another ticket from Milan to Naples with another airline (309.4 EUR), on top of the 300+ JOD I had already paid for my original ticket. They literally booked my next flight while my original flight had not left yet!!!!!! This was not my fault - I arrived at the airport 2.5 hours before departure, and it was Royal Jordanian’s poor organization that caused me to miss my flight. Their check-in process groups all flights into the same lines with no prioritization for earlier departures, and their staff refused to help even when I asked multiple times. This was an extremely unfair and disappointing experience. I will never fly with Royal Jordanian again and would strongly caution others to think twice before booking with them.

We recently traveled with RJ, and our experience was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we checked in to the time we landed, everything was smooth, efficient, and enjoyable. The check-in process was seamless, with friendly staff who made sure we had everything we needed. Boarding was well-organized, and we appreciated the airline's punctuality. The seats were comfortable, with plenty of legroom, and the cabin was clean and well-maintained. The in-flight entertainment kept the kids engaged, and the food options were delicious and well-catered to different preferences. We also appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as blankets and pillows for extra comfort and special attention given to families traveling with kids. It made our journey stress-free and enjoyable. Overall, RJ exceeded our expectations, and we will definitely be flying with them again. Thank you for making our family trip so special! Highly recommended!

Flight RJ106 Milan-Amman booked 3 months in advance, rescheduled 1 month before for 1 day earlier. Had to pay extra airport parking day, 1 extra night in Amman. Old and dirty A319, broken seats. Baggage lost, left with no information, impossible to talk to anyone in Amman, baggage service not answering to calls or emails. Luggage tracked after 3 days, delivery promised in 2 extra days, nothing. Meanwhile have to change city in Jordan, making first worst. ZERO information on how to ask for extra-expenses refund. Complaint form on RJ website always crashing. Should I add anything more? Nevermore with RJ

March 19, 2023 , RJ504 Airline reference KKR337. This flight got canceled. No one to help at airport. Had to stay for one night in Cairo.+ travel + hotel+ arrange for funds + buy 2 one way back tickets to XNA. It costed me more than $2100.00 And now they say we are not responsible as it is third party reservation. The third party says we did the reservation for Royal Jordan and we cannot do anything contact RJ.? NOT RELIABLE AIRLINES AT ALL.

Terrible unfaithful airline! There pre-assigned reserved seats are non-refundable on Etihad Airways. When an airline cancels the passenger flight due to misconnection schedule changes by the airlines. They stood cough up the non-refundable seat fees as they were penalizing the passenger not refunding them their seat assignments. I had to dispute them with my Citibank Mastercard which I won my resolution. No airlines should stated that their seat assignments (pre-reserved in advance) for fees should be non-refundable as it's not the passenger fault due to the airlines schedule changes. AVOID BOOKING ON THEM AS THEY ARE DISHONEST/UNFAITHFUL TAKING YOUR MONEY /THIS HAPPENED TO ME PRIOR TO MY TRIP EVEN DEPARTED.

I arranged a Round trip ticket with RJ to USA stopping over at Chicago. When I reached Chicago on the way back the ground staff in ORD wouldn't allow me on the flight blaming it on the PCR test and they asked questions about the PCR email that I have received when, how? I provide them the details. However, they are buying time till the boarding is over. The Lady on the counter (R.M) and her manager walked to the room behind the counter acting that they were trying to solve my problem, but it seemed like it’s a well-rehearsed drama. I called RJ call center I was told that it’s a full flight and they will not be able to provide me an alternative flight until 27th of Dec (Boxing day). Soon after the manager and her employee (R.M) walked out from the back room trying to apologies for the situation. and They rejected to provide me a hotel even nor a flight for the following day. They practically board their own first regardless of the situation and then other passengers. It’s a disgraceful airline No Ethics, No respect, No professionalism.

A month and a half ago i flew Royal Jordan from Dallas,TX to Amman, Jordan. Ive spent the last month and a half calling non stop and complaining because they lost my checked bag (I flew business class) they havent been answering their phones but when they finally did, manager refused to speak to me and till this day they wont give me an answer to where my bag is. Literally no one has been willing to help me. They are by far the most unprofessional airline ive ever dealt with. I have screen shots of the only time i was able to get a reply from a staff member and they were so condescending and rude. Not one person apologized and i still dont know if or when ill get my bag back.

5 months ago, Royal Jordanian "lost" my luggage for 2 months, basically ignoring (or refusing to respond to) ALL my communications to them until eventually "discovering" my bag sitting somewhere in one of their outstations. Once it was returned (to the front porch of my house while I was out on another trip for 2 weeks), they generally refused any compensation at all. After finally finding enough RJ email addresses and badgering them they finally agreed to a partial compensation of my 1st day's emergency expenses, finally upping that offer to all my 1st day's expenses. They're refusing any compensation for everything I had to replace during the remaining 2 months before they finally "discovered" and returned my bag. I have filed a complaint thru US DOT Traveler's Protection and no surprise, Royal Jordanian is even ignoring them now. Basically it seems, Royal Jordanian's idea of Customer Service is to simply ignore the passenger until they go away. Ultimately, the inflight service was mediocre but acceptable. But on the ground on both ends, Customer Service has been very dismissive,, "Go away, you're bothering me". NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

they are useless, they will make sure they can steal from you even for their mistakes don't use it anymore, I was always promoting their services till we get a careless behavior, the last one to care about is customer, the reply always "pay us and we will support " even if they commit mistakes on their tickets.

I wanna share my very bad recent experience with Royal Jordanian Airlines. I missed my flight and I had the right to choose next flight but it seems the Royal Jordanian Airlines doesn't care of customers and just trying to abuse the stucked passengers and make money by tricking customers! They asked me to pay minimun 2X of my original ticket price for rescheduling + $150 as rescheduling fee for my substitue flight while the other first class airlines offer flights cheaper than my original ticket price with Royal Jordanian in the same specific time! It means I lost my money with Royal Jordanian Airlines and I got stocked with my trip. I highly recomend if you want peace of mind, do not use the Royal Jordanian Airlines. Instead you can use other airlines with good customer service and good reputation. I never use this airline anymore in my life based on my own experience and others experience with this airline.

Today is 22 Sep 19 and I have been attempting to trace my lost luggage from RJ264 ORD AMM dated 8 Aug 19. My 1st Class ticket was purchased through American Airlines as a OneWorld codeshare. American confirmed scanning the bag delivered to RJ264 before departure. After waiting at AMM baggage claim for the 1st 45 minutes after arrival, a baggage clerk confirmed that it was still processing through security. At 1 ½ hour after arrival, the same baggage clerk said that now he could no longer find it back there. How could my bag have “disappeared” while processing through security? After filing my lost luggage claim at the AMM airport, I have had had NO RESPONSE and NO CONTACT from Royal Jordanian airlines. I have called every phone number listed for customer service and they are all just looped recordings that keep transferring to another message. In the last 6 weeks I have sent more than 12 emails to your Royal Jordanian Head Office that have not been answered. Are you just assuming that if you ignore me long enough I will go away? Please Respond.

Service and food on my flight to Kuala Lumpur via Bangkok was ok. I could stay in the airplane during fuelling, which was good. The only disturbing thing was the dimmable windows. They were just locked into darkness for the whole flight. Dear management, there's a reason why I chose a window seat, so please let your passengers enjoy the view, sunrise and sunset!

I fly regularly to Amman and can not fault the service or the atmosphere. The airline enjoys a great safety record and beat others for value. I only wanted to write this review because many posts here were from moan moan moan passengers who think they booked a 7 star hotel. I however will continue to use RJ for future flights undeterred.

this company stole my money... i flew from montreal to dubai with my 11 month old daughter and my pregnant wife who was under 28 weeks pregnant, so we didnt need any certificate for her to fly. We specifically asked them at the check in counter in Montreal if we need to get one from Dubai when we come back home 2 and half weeks later and they told us no WE DONT, so we didnt bother getting one from a gynecologist in Dubai. On the way back from Dubai, its 4 am Dubai time, and the company is not allowing us to fly with them, since my wife if passed the 28 weeks pregnant even though they told us in Montreal we dont need one. we tried explaing that to them but they were soo studborn and didnt really care and had zero sympathy that we had a baby and a pregnant wife and its 5 am at this time and where we had no where to go. They did not accomodate us with anything, and MADE US PAY A PENALTY OF 1810$ CAN, to change the booking to the next flight which was only 4 days later. So we got stuck in dubai 4 extra days, missed work, and had to find a last min hotel, taxi, with 6 luggages, stroller, and 3 handbags.They put me on the spot and in a way forced me to pay the penalty because that was the only way to change the booking. all that other than the fact that they lost my stroller in amman jordan during my lay over of 6 hours, but finally found it 2 hours later, so i had a very hard time with my baby without a stroller or the car seat, that i never saw until i arrived to Dubai, even thow i specifically aske3d for it. the airlines is always late, never on time. bad service. Whenever you ask someone for help, they keep thowing it to the next person, no one wants to take this blame for anything, no one is willing to help. so in the end, i get the wrong information from them, and i pay the price for it. NEVER FLYINMG WITH THEM AGAIN, NOR SHOULD YOU. Thats why on google its raited THE 2ND WORST AIRLINES IN THE WORLD.

Worst service, worst airline to travel with. I flew from montreal to dubai with a 11 month old baby and a pregnant wife. They told us at the check in counter in montreal that we can fly without the need of a certificate to fly for my wife since she is pregnant and under 28 weeks. And we specifically asked them if we need to get one when we come back 2 and half weeks later since she will have passed the 28 weeks by a few days, and they told us NO. so on the way back from dubai, at the check in counter, they asked us about the pregnancy and we were very honest with them and told them that she just passed her 28 weeks. So they obviously did not allow is to fly without the certificate. And we tried explaing to them in dubai that we were told in montreal that we didnt need it but they didnt care. So they threw us out at 5 am dubai time. With a baby and a pregnant wife. And made us pay 1800$ penalty to change the booking to the nxt flight 4 days later. All that because we received the wrong info from them in montreal. Worst ailine ever. Otheer than the part that they are never on time. Always late. Plus lost my stroller for my baby. But finally found it 2 hours later but missing the cup holder. Worst service.

I had the worst flight ever with Jordanian airlines .. the flight was delayed the crow took the seats at the back to sleep and they were very aggressive.. I had a baby on lap and there was spots empty but passengers the don't let you set beside them because each of them wants to use the seat beside him to sleep each time I ask to change flight date the said it's not same level and you have to pay e tea although I paid warranty !! I will never think about booking on royal Jordanian on my way back I had a sever stomach pain and they said they Can't open the first aid kit or give me anything if it's not life threatening!!!!

Honestly my experience with RJ 261 on 12/07/2017 from Amman to JFK New York was very bad. They made to to stay in the airport more than 8 hours without providing Hotel or proper food. I will never fly from this airline anymore neither recommend to others.

So far this the worst company I have ever dealt with as they have rescheduled the flight 6 hours earlier without informing lots of passengers and I was one of them. When I called them they claimed that they have informed the travel agent and they have said the same to the other passengers in the same situation but through different travel agents and none of them was aware. They failed to find any solution or alternative flight and they are even refusing to refund the money and saying that they will need to deduct cancellation charges. I really advise everybody to avoid dealing with this company.

I have flown with many airlines by far this is the worst airline I have dealt with. We booked a flight to Lebanon on a promotion that Royal Jordanian was having. We got the tickets at a reasonable price, but I guess we should have known there was a reason for the lower pricing, its because the quality of the airlines and their customer services is below satisfactory. We had issues with our flight on the way to Lebanon. We contacted the staff in AMM as well and ORD and BEY, they were unresponsive and unhelpful. I still have 2 emails to this day that have not be responded to at all even though their automated responses guarantee a response "within 3 business days," its been 8 business days for one email and 11 for the other. On the flight home the staff reserved 5 rows of chairs so they could take shifts napping during the flight. When I asked the flight attendant to throw something away for me, as I was holding my baby in my arms, she simply pointed to the garbage chute in the back of the plane. The only options for food was chicken or fish. My sister ordered veggie and was given her request. They only snacks they had were peanuts. Wouldn't fly Jordanian even if the ticket was $0

This airline is simply HORRIBLE. They lost my bag for 9 days which was my entire trip to Egypt. I had no medication, toiletries, shoes, or anything of that nature and they did nothing to help me. My bag was found found but I wasn't notified until I called them even though they had my number and email. They said it couldn't be returned to me because it wasn't between the hours of 10 to 2 though the phone number they provided doesn't work during those hours. With that being my last day and a 6am flight I ended up leaving without the very bag they lost and was told that the only thing they could do was forward it to me. The staff at the call center, Cairo Airport, Ammon Airport, and JFK DID NOTHING TO ASSIST ME. They passed me from one number to another number from one terminal to another terminal. They only thing that was consistent among them was the passing of the blame and we don't handle that.

Bangkok to Larnaca via Amman; Second time flying them, on the first leg 787, new and comfortable, service basic but ok, the plane was packed! not much movies available but flight left on time despite check-in agents slowness, in Amman security is horrendous and takes forever, second flight delayed due to bad weather, a320 with PLENTY of legroom, can't complain about that, but again service very basic, for the price they charge they should be giving emirates or qatar service!

We flew with Royal Jordanian to go to Saudi, very bad airline anybody can travel. The internal flights are delayed and they don't even care about the passenger. Pay little bit more and fly with other airlines. Don't use Royal Jordanian. They give you separate seats from your family even when you request at the desk. They excuse is the flight is full.

No room at the Inn at Christmas for RJ passengers who are left stranded at a full hotel after RJ cancel their onward flight, then RJ staff leave passengers to fend for themselves. The problems began when there were been 4 minor changes to my flight times over the past few months. The last change happened the day before I flew when you cancelled my 3.00 am dreamliner flight from AMM to BKK and put me on an old A330 9.30 flight to BKK on 17th December. When arriving in Amman airport, there were no staff to meet anyone to tell them what to do. We had to wait an hour before we were all bussed to the hotel at 1 am in the morning was. The bus was over-crowded and had people standing in the aisles which is a safety hazard. The coach dropped the load of people off at the hotel who were un prepared, under-staffed and unhelpful. It took a further 90 minutes sort out the mess and to check some people into a room, but there were not rooms for most of the passengers as the hotel was full. At around 2.30 in the morning, with no one from RJ any where around, I left to come back to the airport and slept on an airport bench.

Services were good, food was good, and the staff was nice didn't have any trouble with anything. The plane wasn't the newest model where you can find a USB charger for your devices or a touch screen or any of the new gadgets, but for the service it was great, and they have great collection of videos and entertainment.

Amman to Larnaca, the airline seems to be a little sloppy, there were no lines as they work fast enough, flight on time, plane not that new but well kept, they only serve a soft drink as this flight lasts only 1 hour! my return flight was cancelled, but as I issued with air miles I transferred to another airlines, will avoid them in the future if I have a choice.

Direct Flight from BCN to Amman was changed the day before to via Madrid which added another two hours to the flight! On board service is ok, food is below average. Flew with Royal Jordanian only because it's the only carrier that flies directly from Barcelona! Seats were comfortable.

* passengers find out about the schedule change when boarding. no email communication was sent to some. * online checkin unavailable(system error) * IST checkin:slowest in my life:RJ was the only airline in IST that did not have a unique queue. After checkin and passport control I was *just* in time for boarding (I had arrived over 2h before the flight!) * passengers traveling together who had their seats selected when buying the ticket received new seats in different rows. * no priority for passengers traveling with children or those with mobility issues (assigned seat at the back of the plane) * 1.5h spent in the plane (hot, no water provided) first being informed that we will have short delay due to air traffic, then plane issues. the last ~50min spent in the plane without PA announcements and without seeing a single crew member. With seatbelt sign still on, people started to get their luggage and leave the aircraft. no PA announcement about the change.In the terminal, again no PA announcements, only one employee informing the passengers in Arabic about next steps.I had to ask for translation. Finally boarded the same plane and we took off without even an apology from crew.

I travel with Royal Jordanian yearly, and it never fails to impress . There is always superb service, an excellent variety of entertainment and very comfortable seating. I would happily recommend Royal Jordanian to anyone as I believe they provide a great experience.

I flew with RJ for the second time now on direct flights from London to Amman and I must admit it was always an impressive experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and for the whole 5 hour flight, the cabin crew were excellent. Yes the plane was full of kids and a bit noisy but the individual entertainment took care of that. It was The A320 to Amman which was a bit cramped but we came back on the A330 and that was much better.

I travelled with Royal Jordanian from London to Amman, their service was very poor, and their employees in Heathrow airport were very unfriendly and disrespectful, I don't recommend this airline to anyone.

I did twice the trip HK - Milan in Crown, choosing RJ because of the cheaper price. Staff is very nice and helpful, good food quality on board, the service style is "simple" as they probably need some more training but nothing is missing if compare with other airline companies. The lounge in Ammann is very comfortable but offering a poor choise of meals. Will definetively fly again with them.

I have often flight from Frankfurt to Amman because of education. Mostly with the RJ A321. The service was always excellent when i compare it to some European Airlines

Bangkok - Hong Kong A330, I had decided to treat myself and instead of flying cattle class I would move up to business class, I understand that every flight is different for what ever reason, but for the extra dollars I paid it definitely was not worth it, the only good notable thing- the cheerful air hostess (Thai) I have been lucky enough to fly Business class with Emirates a few times between Australia and New Zealand RJ could learn a thing or two. Even the seats nice to sit on but try and get up well that was a mission, entertainment system, one word pathetic. This was my first time on RJ and it will be my last time.

This airline interior design is sure to send you to the next hospital, you are forced to sit for many houres in a space fit for a sardeen. I spent 14 hours sitting in my seen and could not move and if I tried to go to the washrooms, I have move in a very narrow way to get their, you can,t even eat your meal because of the small area between you and the seat infront of you, people are loud and childrens are playing every where without any supervision by parents or airline crew. I like the Royal Jordanian air line but hope that they take some seats and create a comfortable environment for their paying custumers and keep us flying with them or we will go with other airlines where the comfort of custumers come first, thanks.

I took the flight from London Heathrow to Amman on a direct 5 hour flight with 3 kids and a baby. I was impressed as the airline had allocated a cot for my baby and helped me with obtaining warm water for feeds and even looked after my kids while visiting the toilet. The aircraft Airbus A330 was modern and comfortable. Very impressed indeed. Excellent airline with excellent service.

I traveled with American Airlines from New York via Paris to Amman, the second leg of the flight was operated by Royal Jordanian. Unfortunately, the AA check-in counter in New York could not issue a boarding pass for the second leg, and referred me to the Royal Jordanian counter. However, a logistics staff there informed me that this counter was was closed on this entire day, apparently it has only open on certain days of the week. The AA clerk referred me to Paris, where I would need to approach the RJ counter to get a boarding pass for the second leg. Unfortunately, the transfer time was only 90 minutes, and I had to go through security again, so I was anxious the entire flight whether I will make it in time. Turns out the first RJ counter I came by in Paris was unoccupied as well! After hurrying through the airport and passing security, I just managed to find another counter in another part of the airport, where I finally obtained a boarding pass while the plane was already boarding. Flying business class should be a more relaxing experience, instead I fell in my seat drowning in sweat. To round up my experience, RJ lost my luggage in the transfer, and after wasting 1 hour at the airport to wait for the luggage and register the loss, I had to wait another 3(!) days until my luggage was finally delivered to the hotel! 1 day should be the norm for this. Bottom line: a bad experience, and no recommendation for this airline. They really have to step up their game, with top notch airlines like Turkish Airlines serving this region as well for the same price.

I took the flight from Hong Kong to Bangkok last Christmas. Food, beverage and service were all pretty good. Their alcohol beverage selection is better than other airlines'. The only little thing I was not too happy about was the gate of a 40% more expensive airline was way too remote.
