Disastrous Luggage Experience with Iberia – No Office, No Support, No Excuse My wife and I flew with Iberia from Malaga to Nice on August 5, and when we landed, both our checked bags were missing. There was no Iberia office at Nice Airport, and staff on-site had no information at all—not even whether our luggage had been sent. We spent two full days calling Iberia, the airport, and every possible service, only to be passed around in circles with zero answers and total disorganization. During this time, my wife had to go without essential medication that was in her bag, and we were forced to buy clothes and toiletries just to manage. I personally had to go to the airport five times, wasting precious time and energy. The only person who showed any real initiative was an Iberia phone agent named Eric, who eventually helped locate our bags—after two days of silence and chaos. This is not the level of reliability or care that passengers should expect from a major airline. I sincerely hope Iberia reviews this case, improves its communication, and ensures no other passenger has to go through such an ordeal.

Do NOT fly this airline under any circumstance. They lost our luggage along with 20 other passengers. On the previous flight 40 people had no luggage. When we finally got our luggage one bag was missing 75% of the contents, stolen by Iberia or their 3rd party delivery service.

Iberia airlines is one of the most unorganized airlines I have ever taken. After a minor booking issue I had to go through multiple helplines in order to reverse locations of a departing and returning flight. The booking process was extremely unorganized and hard to follow. It is a scam if you make any mistakes in terms of booking. I do NOT suggest this airline to anyone who wants an affordable flight that won't scam you for minor mistakes.

Terrible. Our bags lost twice in three days and made to wait days for their return thereby ruining our trip. The fact that at San Sebastián there was a lady waiting for the four people whose bags had not been put on their flight and at Rome there were over forty people says everything. If you fly Iberian send your bags by mail! This is probably also why most passengers take way to much cabin baggage which the crew push into overhead lockers and force you to have under the seat in front of you so you have no leg space. Don’t fly Iberian.

Without a doubt, this has been the worst flight experience I have ever had; On April 5th, my wife and I traveled from Mexico City to Madrid (Flight IB 6402). Upon arriving at Barajas Airport, we proceeded to the baggage claim area, and after waiting 1.5 hours, we went to the Iberia counter to file a complaint. They provided us with a receipt that had no logo or much information that could identify them, It should be noted that none of the passengers on this flight received their luggage. The luggage was delivered 3 days later. I initiated the process of filing a complaint once that I got back to Mexico City; Iberia showed some initial willingness to provide a refund, they requested my bank account information and copies of the expenses incurred. However, after I sent them all the required information, they stopped responding to my emails. My suggestion is to use alternative reliable airlines; At the end of the day, the costs incurred due to Iberia's terrible service turn out to be higher than buying tickets with a more reliable airline.

Iberia's communication is outrageous.. I make a reservation in January (transoceanic flight) I make the payment through the page, everything seems correct, I receive an email with the flight details, locator, price, do not forget to travel documented, your luggage .. The title of the booking confirmation email. BUT somewhere in the email it mentions that I have made the reservation but that I must make the final confirmation of my ticket within 3 days. ? ? Gentlemen, communicate clearly with your customers!! It seems unbelievable that a national airline uses the RESERVATION CONFIRMATION title (for a reservation that could not be completed and as they have explained to me in customer service not finalised due to a payment error) vs. RESERVATION CONFIRMED when everything goes well. If the payment does not go through, say it in the website!. Called Customer Service 3 times, 0 flexibility and refer me to book a new flight, I am even thinking you do it like this to get more money from last minute bookings.

July 27, 2022, flight from Orly to Madrid at 10h15, my 87 yr old parents were flying on business back to San Juan, PR., Upon check in , the Iberia agent tells me that he cannot send the luggage through and that my parents had to collect them in Madrid and go through check in again for their connection. This was not acceptable. The situation was extremely stressing because they were only starting their long trip and already there were problems; finally a check-in manager came and resolved the issue. Another problem then, the agent did not want to provide the connecting boarding pass. The manager came back again to give the connecting boarding pass. All this lasted one hour standing in the counter; In the past years I have had issues with Iberia with customer service which is non- existent and the agents at Orly counter are not trained at all and are not professional. I will avoid this airline at all costs. Thankfully the check-in manager was there to resolve the issue.

It was not what I expected from an airline . Somehow i got connected flight from Madrid to Washington . The craft kind of old but I am sure it was safe .Never at any point I was able to hear clearly any of the announcement , The Captain never welcome or address passengers, The quality of the meal was a big JOKE . Very poor quality a dog food looks much better and more appealing the cheap woods spoon ,knife and fork give me a break . The crew after they serve the meal they disappeared , they never checked in anyone . Snak time was a lot worse than the meal . One of the crew member was dragging the apple and the banana in plastic bag on the floor . Would i fly or recommend Iberia again most likely not .

-10 stars for Iberia and Madrid airport. Displeasure of two flights with this train wreck of a company. Paid baggage fees twice because their system didn't have us on record. Late first leg flight caused us to miss connecting flight with another carrier. 100 person long screamfest of their "customer service". $3000 for second flight with them as only option to make it for sisters wedding. No recourse. 36 hrs in airport sleeping on floor and McDonald's.

This is our “local” airline. This review is about connecting flights from Lanzarote to Paris Orly via Madrid. We booked the day before to replace a flight messed up by the Paris strikes. Iberia staff were very helpful even at 5 am and kindly helped my husband to a wheelchair. The first flight was fine although everyone worried about short connections as it was delayed. But all Iberia gates were in a small area. Anyway, the next flight was delayed! The flight to Paris was not good. There was a lot of turbulence, but not continual. Crew cancelled ALL food and drink. They brought water for kids but nothing at all to the rest of us. My husband is diabetic and had depended on having lunch on board! He rang the bell when the turbulence light went out but nobody appeared for ages and ages. Then we were told that it was too late to supply anything! The reason given for the lack of service was safety – I accept that, but somehow it was considered safe enough to provide a full service in business class. How come??? My ratings reflect an average of the two flights. Still better than some, IMO.

I flown from Milan To Lima via Madrid and back. The aircraft used for the long haul was dated, cabin dirty and Cabin crew rude. From Lima to Madrid the aircraft was in late due to some technical issue. Bad experience also with Customers service. Not recomanded

Had a late night flight to Barcelona, flight was delayed a few times, then cancelled just before midnight, did not receive a hotel voucher for almost 3 hours. Then put up in a cheap crappy hotel. next day still no flight. This trip was to be an experience/ opportunity of a lift time, I was presenting at a world conference. I would have been able to make great contacts, and it was a good opportunity get my foot in the door in a community that is very hard to get into. I would never, ever recommend this airline to anyone.

The flight was 30min late boarding, 2 extra passengers issued boarding passes their baggage required unloading this delayed the flight by a further hour. Once in the air no inflight entertainment, Wi-Fi or music. 10 rows into food service they ran out of substantial snacks only junk left. Due to delays I missed my connecting flight, last flight for the day. You would think Iberia would be out to please, NO. I could not retrieve my bags, I had to stay in accommodation of their choice, no compensation. The accommodation at "Airport Suites" was appalling, single bed, no toiletries or night wear as told. The buffet meal was discusting, I stayed well clear. It is clear that this airline is a budget no frills option and should not be part of the One World Group of partners.

When I checked in at London Heathrow on Aug 22, the Iberia's representative didn't mention anything about the fact that my passport wouldn't have been considered as valid by the Peruvian immigration authorities once arrived in Lima. Indeed, my passport is going to expire in 5 months (19 January 2020) but according to Peruvian regulation, of which all Iberia's staff should be aware, the residual passport’s validity cannot be less than 6 months upon the arrival's date. I booked the flights months ago and uploaded all the passport details back then. I went through several passport controls (at least 3) and again nobody told me anything so I got to Lima and only then, at the last passport control, I've been told I couldn't enter the country. Eventually I was sent back to London. Me and my partner had to fly back and both lost a huge amount of money, not only the money we spent for flying from London to Madrid and from Madrid to Lima but also the one we spent for accommodation, transportation and on site tours. Furthermore, my partner had to pay ~$1,700 for booking the same return flight to London so to fly together.

We used it to go from Milan to Colombia. Worst company we ever flight with. Now I tell you because you should never use this company: 1) Almost all the staff is very cold and not helpful at all. 2) We had to pay additional 120 (!!!) euros at the check in cause the luggage was "not included". 3) For 10 hours flying you got advertisment (like Ryanair and low cost companies) and you have to pay for drinks. Is okay for a 2-3 hours flight....but what about 10 hours!?! 4) WHEN YOU TRY TO CHOSE YOUR SEAT THE WEBSITE ALWAYS GET "ERRORS"... SO YOU HAVE TO PAY AT LEAST 30 EUROS MORE (FOR EACH PERSON) IF YOU WANT TO BE SURE TO BE SEATED WITH YOUR GIRLFRIEND IN A 10 HOURS FLIGHT! 5) THe price is a bit cheaper than other companies, but NOT WORTH IT AT ALL! 6) The seats are very very unconfortable and small 7) Dirty screen and dirty toilets. 8) Worst food I ever had in my life (the chicken tasted like garbage) Don't take it...you would regret!

This was, by far, the worst experience I’ve had with an airline. We were sold a flight from Boston to Porto with a 1 hr layover in Madrid. We were held on the first plane for 40 minutes for unknown reasons, causing our connecting flight to start boarding before we got off the first plane. We were given standby tickets for the next flight (4 hours later) and didn’t get on as there were 10+ other people in the same predicament. The staff at the Iberia customer service were rude, disrespectful, and didn’t help us. Finally we got onto another flight by calling (3 times) and got to Portugal 8 hours after we were supposed to. Very frustrated and disappointed

This is the worst Airline I've ever used or seen!!! Do not use! From Start to Finish, this Airline is full of disappointment and incompetent staff. We purchased tickets for 2 and they sit us separately stating you have to pay to sit together. We then upgraded seats to avoid this problem again for our Return Trip and the Check In Staff Prints Inferior Seats and Iberia cannot give me the seats I paid for!!! And what's even Worst is the Staff in the plane are so lazy and so incompetent; there was kids jumping on seats and running out around like it was a park and they did nothing!!! So Unprofessional, DO NOT USE THIS AIRLINE, YOU WILL SAVE YOURSELF FROM A BIG HEADACHE.

During boarding time, Iberia forced us to put our carry-on luggage in the airplane and not the overhead compartments because they had filled up. We were in the last zone to board the plane. When we got home, $2,039.16 worth of electronics, accessories and other belongings of mine and my family's were stolen. In addition to this sum, I had also paid 180 euros for the stolen glasses and 280 euros for the sunglasses to have them prescription-ed in Greece before I left.

I had the misfortune of purchasing airline tickets on Iberia for myself and my family earlier in 2018 for a flight from Miami to Spain. I made an additional mistake of purchasing the tickets thru Travelocity. Other than for information purposes only, it makes no sense to purchase airline tickets or hotel reservations thru Travelocity instead of going directly to the airline or hotel. Many airlines or hotels will not deal with you directly if you book with Travelocity. So if you have a problem with your itinerary, it becomes a circus act trying to coordinate between both the airlines and the booking site. Well, I needed emergency medical treatment for one month which started the week before my flight on Iberia for July 27th. I contacted Iberia and Travelocity to allow me to use my tickets at a later date without having to pay a penalty fee. I had paid good money for these tickets, and was not asking for anything more than what I had paid for. After several months of back and forth, their answer was no! A week ago I called Iberia airlines directly and asked to speak to a supervisor: the supervisor's response was that she did not want to speak with me. I asked for her name and to speak to another supervisor, but I was refused. I was not being rude . I don't think this would have happened with an American airline company. It seems to me that I will only use american airline companies in the future, to avoid this indirect discrimination from foreign airlines such as Iberia. I will also avoid booking flights on sites such as Travelocity.

Been flying all over the world for the past 28 years but our flight with Iberia few days ago has been the worst 10 hours of flying experience. The flight tickets have been far from cheap but the staff on board treats passengers as if they are some low cost class travellers. Very unfriendly and frankly ignorant, not a single one smiled, seemed bothered and unhappy. When dropping things on the floor while collecting the empty dishes they just left the trash there and were stepping over it for the rest of the journey. Very uncomfortable to fly with such a horrible depressed staff who doesn't even make an eye contact or replies to thank you and good bye when leaving the plane!

I am gold on iberia which gives me a great service team and they are really the best! and there it ends! Lounges great but always full and not enough cleaning staff, airplanes get filthy during the day.. the later the worse, flight attentaands are def not paid to smile. some are great most hate their jobs and you because you make them work. The non airline handling agents the worse with I think Frankfurt being on top of the worse. All in all: after 3 years gold and lots of promises but no changes.. I left.. yes: they invest in technologies but not in training or people...

this time Iberia Express. well one first sight you may say : nice. but: if you werent lucky to get a very good deal and that is possible with them, you get a lot of nonsense for the Iberia Price but : no food, often no lounge, and cheap handling but now the best: a bunch of "very young" flight attendants who are rude, and alwasy hectik, running yes running around, mostly bad , no worse english and when u want to complain: the Purser shows up: i dont think any one of the cabin crew is over 25. I dont want to be in an emergency with them. but . spanish pride... head high as if they were working first class singapore... and Iberia maybe you dont know.. IB and IBE: these call buttons are for your communication have many sandwiches u need but when a customer presses it to go and see him/her. and my last flight i actually had a 18 year old flight attendant come.. switch it off and walking away.. didnt even look at me: the only ony in the row. when I pressed again, he got annoyed and then when I dared to stand up to stow something into the overhead, after seatbelt sing was on for landing (sorry emergency exit: it u dont come and check I have to get up: yelled at me, like at a 5 year old.. now I sound arrogant:; a 18 or may 20 year old kid in uniform screams at me from 3 rows: 50 years old, worked 20 years for airlines (last titel station manager) premium status, .. I had to control myself and complaning to the 2 year older cabin serivce director .. jajaja.. here is the complaint form, not apology

On an international flight, the cabin crew couldn't speak a word in English. They were also rude and angry, and never saw them smile. The announced onboard entertainment didn't work, and the staff didn't even know what it was. No complimentary refreshments are offered, then I don't see the point in choosing this one over the low cost airlines.

Absolutely terrible! You pay the price and also pay in addition for a checked-in suitcase but the service is far worse than with low cost arilines. Add to the airline, the inefficiency of Palma dz Mallorca airport staff and it's bingo. Over 2h30 delay, still no information aside from sending us from one gate to the other for the 5th time. Obviously they don't even offer a voucher for refreshment or food. The staff doesn't have a clue of what's happening and would rather lie about departure time rather than being transparent. We haven't received an email or text from the airline to update us either. More than disappointing!

It was the worst experience ever. It was my first and last time flying with iberia since i was told that according to the EU law this airline is allowed to sell more seats than they can offer. I was on the waiting list even though an economy class ticket cost 320 (Munich-Madrid-Munich). I have never received an info email from the airline regarding the online check in (even ryanair and wizzair bomb the passengers with such emails). The guy on the Barajas airport who was working in the customer service could not handle me and became nervous as I started panicking about the fact that there was no seat for me. No seat free even for the nest flight early in the evening.

Reserve un billete JFK-RDU con American Airlines, especialmente con ellos porque hace parte del concepto One World por si acaso hubiera un problema con la conexion. Hubo un problema por un retraso de un vuelo de Iberia y de repente el concepto de One World desaparecio porque ni AA ni Iberia querian cambiarme el billete JFK-RDU (la reserva no era bajo el mismo codigo) Para mi el concepto de One World no tiene mas valor que tener punto en Iberia Plus cuando uno vuela con otras companias de One World. Por el resto es un truco de marketing que permite a Iberia y las otras companias de hacer uso de sus respectivos clientes para obtener mas ventas, pero no para asistir a un cliente de una otra compañía que tiene un problema. Otro ejemplo. Viajo con Iberia Business de Madrid a Bruselas y me puedo llevar 2 carry one en la cabina. Cuando cojo la conexion con British Airlines de Londres a JFK me permiten solamente 1 en la misma clase Business. One World ??? Que risa !

Trying to return from San Jose Costa Rica to Paris France via Madrid my son, a USA citizen was denied checking in for his flight because he did not have a return ticket from France to NY. I explained that he only traveled to Costa Rica for a FIFA sanctioned tournament and did not require a visa to entire France but they closed the counter and left him stranded in the airport. We spoke with Costa Rican immigration he said its Iberia policy not theirs, I spoke with Iberia in NY they said its Costa Rican immigration. No one from Iberia Costa Rica would speak with me.

GRU-MAD-RAK, My first time with Iberia and hopefully the last (I even paid more to return with British Airways to avoid them). Ground staff completely rude and ill trained, they create rules and pretend you don`t know the procedure, they wanted a return flight to Brazil and I showed them several onward tickets because I was not returning to Brazil that soon, still they wanted me to purchase a return ticket, after telling them I have worked for airlines and have flown more than 50 different airlines, they backed off, but still were very rude and annoying! on board the plane just ok, A330, not that old but nothing new, AVOD system a joke and food very plastic, crew old and tired. A low fare airlines trying to sell legacy product, avoid them if you can. PS- they charge 40 euros for pre selecting your seats, don`t fall for that unless you really need to.

Flew Business from Frankfurt to Sao Paulo via Madrid. Arriving in Madrid, we were informed when Boarding (!!!) that we got a downgrade. No excuse, no Information, no sorry from staff. 15 other passengers with the same Problem. Since we had to work the other day, no Chance of changing. Most horrible carrierer in my 20 years of Business travelling. Never again.

Flight Granada-Madrid Casablanca, 16/10/16 Rating: wouldn't fly Iberia again if they were the last flight out of a nuclear holocaust Computer system: down and had been "since last night" Checkin: we were ever hopeful that they could nail the basics. We were disappointed at every turn Seat: Our computer system is down, so "SIT ANYWHERE YOU LIKE"! What kind of a third rate service is this? Anyone familiar with IATA or civil aviation niceties? Luggage handling: we were without luggage for over two weeks, say no more Customer service: simply awful. Call centre info wrong, Iberia staff not at airport when we were told they would be, they did NOTHING to assist us or our travel agent Inflight service: "casual" would be one description, uncaring would be an alternative Food & beverage: they ran out of what I wanted before they got to me.... I was halfway down the plane, so clearly they had undercatered Entertainment: me drafting up my letter of complaint Value for money: don't care how much or how little the flight cost, we paid dearly for flying with Iberia in so many ways

I flew last month from Paris to Jerez, Spain and after a week, from Jerez to London Heathrow connecting in Madrid. Two problems: I was unable to check in online for either flight due to their system. And secondly, my return flight left at 6:50AM and I should've been at the airport to check in 45 min prior but I got there 3 min late. The airport wasn't busy at all and the woman at the counter was awful. I was bluntly told my flight was full and I was late to check in. Mind you, I was unable to check in online because of their system. The woman I dealt with was just jerking me around and finally was going to do me a big favor and put me on standby. When I repeated that I had a connecting flight in Madrid and a flight later that day from London to San Diego, a different woman suddenly handed me my boarding passes and the witchy one checked my bag. And guess what? The flight wasn't full at all and my bag failed to appear in London. Thankfully, British Airways had very kind people who arranged a trace on the bag and it was delivered to my home 2 days later. I guess my point is that a little kindness goes a long way and employees like that woman shouldn't be dealing with customers.

IB6585 MADRID BOGOTA ON OCTOBER 17 2016 At check in we knew we were downgraded to coach because of overbooking, no apologies, no explanations even when we are Platinum with American Airlines Advantage, member of One World Alliance (same as Iberia) and separating us from our daughters. Terrible service, terrible attitude. We are not traveling with Iberia again.

Please do not fly Iberia, they do not deserve your money. In May I flew to Cuba from London with what was meant to be a short stop in Madrid. On getting to Madrid, the flight to Havana was delayed.... these things happen so we weren't panicked. However, the length of the delay kept changing on the board,1 hour grew to 5. We were told to go to hotel for the night, but despite leaving the airport at 2200 I didnt see a bed until 0100. It was HORRIFICALLY organised. The delay was 21 hours in total and we should have been entitled to compensation. But on returning an logging a complaint I was told it was extraordinary circumstances. It was not 6 months later, countless emails, asking the Aviation Authority to get involved and the threat of legal action meant they admitted they were at fault. All contact was through a "do not reply" email address and it was impossible to talk to anyone. Please do not fly this airline. Whilst the flights were good once something went wrong it was near impossible to get an answer.

I bought upfront seats 6A and 6B. When i did the check in online, i saw 18D and 18E. They cancelled my seats without any explanations. I called them and told me that they did not know! They do not respect their customers. If you are not satisfied, it is your problem but not theirs.

Iberia express the worst airline. BA decided to change one leg of trip to Iberia Express. I am a frequent flyer in business class and economy and never have I had such a bad experience or felt so unsafe. Staff uninterested. Seats torture, rubbish food you pay for, old planes. Staff at gate very rude and awkward not interested in your club world status. I flew Ryan air once and have to say they are a million times better. It's a shame that BA use this airline on some legs, I think they will lose customers

Like Michael who posted his review on 29 January, from Chile I booked/paid for a super economy flight from FCO to MAD and realized I had booked the wrong date. I called their 800 number within an hour of my mistake and after rebooking the correct date and paying again for the same super economy fare, the agent told me since I had realized my mistake and called "so soon" a full refund of the first ticket would be made. Said refund credit was on my credit card within 72 hours. No fees or anything deducted. btw, all this was done in perfect English.

Worst airline customer service experience ever. Staff in Madrid are rude and unhelpful. I will never deal with this airline again. I had the unfortunate experience of being redirected to Iberia since my BA flight was canceled.

Our BA flight to Palma became an Iberia Express flight on the return , what a difference. Leg room is very poor, i'm 5'11 and my knees hit the seat in front while just sitting normally. You had to pay for food / drinks, quite normal these days but with BA they are free and we had booked a BA flight !. Try to avoid for comforts sake.

Some years ago, we flew to Rome with Iberia and someone opened our suitcase and stole our shoes. We sent a report because it's obviously their fault and we never got an answer back. Now, on March 25th this year (last week), we arrived late from Orlando to London with British Airways and we missed the flight to Madrid which we were supposed to go with Iberia. Nobody from Iberia was there so we called them and besides their poor English, they could only get someone to get to us at 8pm (our flight to Madrid was at 11am) and maybe only maybe put us in a flight to Madrid..... Obviously we were worried about our suitcases so we talked to the British Airways staff and they got us an earlier ticket + train tickets to get to the other airport + the suitcases! Never again with Iberia!

Would rather go with Ryanair much better experience- took London to Madrid flight. Extremely cramped seats -shambles of organisation when the flight attendents show little interest in the safety annoucements why should their passengers take notice.

We flew firstly to Madrid and then we're expecting on going on a 9 hour flight to Rio. This however did not happen as such firstly as immediately As we got on they changed and said that the flight was going to take 10:30 mins. But no charging stations worked and there was NO flight entertainment systems what so ever. Anyway half way through the flight there was an announcement that there was some sort of failure so we had to go back to Madrid. Even though it was the same time to Rio. 7:30 hours later we were back in Madrid. We had around 1 hour then we're put on a completely different plane. Yet worse. This one didn't seem as though it had been washed and the seats were torn and didn't move backwards. Anyway we got to Rio early in the morning.

A new carrier for me. After a fabulous LAN 787 (bizz class) from Santiago to Madrid, I had booked a separate cheap round trip to London Heathrow. At check in on line I was offered business class for an extra $50 which I took. It's just the front rows of the A320/321 where the middle seat is blocked. Perfect service, a really good full lunch and two flight attendants doting on 12 pax. The return, no upgrade offered, but I had a exit row window and same very nice service, although nothing free is offered, even water. Forewarned I brought my own. But both flights had extremely nice and attentive cabin crew, very clean and comfortable planes...all for US$140 round trip from Madrid to London (not including the option $50 upgrade). Both flights pushed back and arrived early. What's not to like?

Once or twice a year I fly Bogota-Malaga-Bogota, often by Iberia, flights on time, seats cramped, films OK, food atrociously bad. But trying to make a reservation online on Feb 10 Iberia refused to accept my debit card and blocked the transaction with instruction to call local office. Was told I can't pay by debit card. I started a new ticket purchase online and paid with credit card, then found Iberia had ALSO debited my Barclays account for £681.02 after refusing it and cancelling the ticket sale. Iberia denied this, first saying no money could have been charged as no ticket was issued for this reservation, then said it was 'retention' by my bank to be lifted in three days. Barclays confirmed in writing it was NOT retention but a withdrawal from my account by Iberia using debit card details from supposedly blocked and cancelled transaction. For past week have tried to get Iberia to return the money they took, meeting only extraordinary evasions, obfuscations, deliberate misunderstandings and delaying tactics, promises that it is being 'investigated internally' but little sign of real effort to resolve this and to return my money. Beware of giving debit card details to Iberia

Once again a bad experience flying a long haul flight with Iberia from Buenos Aires to Madrid. The old A340-300 has not been refurbished. Seat 5A. Part of the interior upholstery was torn. The pillow was not wrapped in the usual plastic bag, obviously it had been used by someone else since it was not clean. No individual IFE. The small screen in front had a white line in the middle. My headset plug did not work properly. Food was bad, the lasagne was inedible. The girl next to me had reserved vegetarian food which she did not get. She was offered the pasta which had pieces of ham in it. The only good thing was punctuality. I hope they improve the service. EDITORS COMMENT: definitely time for an upgrade on those airplanes. With regards to the pillows - a lot of airlines don't use the plastic covering anymore as they are come to the aircraft in a couple of huge bags from the cleaners, individual wrapping is an extra cost they can be done with.

British Airways flights are sometimes operated by Iberia; these flight have the same price but much inferior service provided than actual BA flight. Not even water offered on board (for free). Why pay for BA service and get a lowcoster instead?! If they offered a lower price this would be understandable and acceptable.

20min after making a booking I realised I had selected the wrong month. It was an obvious and genuine error, the contact centre staff were rude, showed no empathy and would not change the booking. Would never book with them again! They see you as a dollar sign not a loyal customer.

I flew from London Heathrow to Madrid and then onward from Madrid to Gran Canaria. Both flights going out and return were with Iberia Express. In my opinion, there is no differenced whatsoever between Iberia Express and the low cost carriers. Even on the international leg of the trip from Heathrow to Madrid, you didn't get so much as a free cup of coffee. Everything is paid for. I will NOT fly Iberia Express again but opt for a cheaper low cost carrier. At least you know what you are getting for your money. The flight attendants also took over an hour to swerve 'paid for' drinks and snacks. I think they were on a go slow !
