There deserve to be called Asia's favourite boutique airline. Everything about flying Bangkok Airways was a pleasure. From efficient check-in to friendly staff on the ground and in the air. But, most importantly the comfort of the business class seats. They are from an era in aviation when comfort was king. Okay, so there was no in-seat entertainment screen - but who still needs those anyway?

Chiang Mai - Bangkok flight. I was able to get a seat uptake front of the plane, and as I didn't have any check in, I went direct to the lounge that Bangkok Airways provides all its passengers -- with wifi, newspapers, drinks and snacks, better in my opinion than its major domestic competitor's business class lounges. It's a great reason to fly with them. The flight was on an old A320, but was pleasant. The only thing I disliked about the flight was the use of buses to the aircraft in Chiang Mai and from the aircraft in Bangkok, and that seems to happen quite often. Otherwise I would give them 10/10.

I flew Bangkok Air from Phuket to Bangkok. What a pleasure to fly with them. You are not treated less because you only fly economy class. The cabin crew are well trained, extremely friendly and the entire trip was a pleasure. The service I got on this airline is way better than what I received from a major airline like EMIRATES. Bangkok Air stands out heads above the others.!! Well done Bangkok Air.

Ko samui to Chiang Mai- Very good airline, they can be pricey but their service is supreme! quick check-in, flight on time, on the waiting hall in Samui they offer free snacks in case you didn't have breakfast! No complaints at all and would fly them again if given the chance!

I love Bangkok Air, took 2 flights from BKK to Chiang Mai and BKK to Koh Samui. One of the best companies I took. Attendants are really, really nice and professional. Even for short flights they serve a good meal!!! Rates are fine as well. I really recommand this airline!

Use this airline for the BKK-PNH leg, always fly economy as its only 50 mins. generally the airline is on-time. it's comfortable and reliable. As a rule I never check luggage, however had to on a leg in November - some lucky baggage attendant now owns a new Ipod. The staff are very good, getting all those meals, drinks etc out in that 50 min flight is a credit.

Lack of customer service. Asked to speak to a manager and was told they were off that day. Had to refund my ticket (30 day process) and reissue new ticket at airport. Next time I will travel another carrier. EDITORS COMMENT: Thirty days is quick!! Most airlines are 12 weeks!

Positively surprised. For us it was the first time to fly with Bangkok Airways on a domestic flight within Thailand and we were positively surprised. Free wifi in the airport, friendly service and free drinks, as well as free snacks at the airport, which made the waiting time very pleasant.

I am an ex-pat living in Koh Samui and have flown Bangkok Airways dozens of times to many destinations including Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Phuket and Bangkok. I have flown both business (blue ribbon) class as well as economy. I have also at one point qualified for their Premier frequent flyer category for one year which provides access to their Blue Ribbon (business class) Lounge for you and a traveling companion even if you fly economy, as well as separate check-in line. I have always found this airline to be very friendly and efficient, with superior in-flight service. Considering the short haul of most flights, their meal/snack service is perfectly adequate. It does vary considerably depending on flight though. The ATRs seem to get a small cold meal like a sandwich, whereas the Airbuses get a normal hot meal. The Blue Ribbon Lounge is as good as any business class lounge for other airlines, especially at BKK Airport with multiple massage chairs and private TV lounge areas. Their normal lounge that all passengers are eligible for is also a very nice perk of flying with Bangkok Airways, serving snacks like chicken pastry puffs, small sandwiches, brownies & sticky rice.

I have flown with Bangkok Airways on numerous occasions both on A320/319 and ATR's and have always found the flight and service to be exemplary. Their frequent flyer program is free to join and the points quickly accumulate and can be taken as free flights. Their free lounges are a god send and are available to all who have a ticket. I have flown with all the other carriers in Thailand and have found Bangkok Airways to be the best by a country mile. I wouldn't fly with anyone else.

Rather disappointed with my recent trip with Bangkok airways. Old Airbus planes that are ready to finish service which could clearly be seen by how dirty they were externally. They were very dirty inside also. Marks on seats and tray table. Seat I was sat in was broken and rocked back and forth during the flight. I'm not sure if this is safe as it felt not to be correctly fixed down. I'm just glad I only had to endure sitting on those aircraft for 2 hours. Any longer would have been hell! This airline also managed to damage my brand new luggage. I will not recommend them and will not use again if its possible to avoid.

Very pleased with my flight from Koh samui to Phuket. Very nice little lounge with complimentary snacks and refreshments. Small meal on a 1 hour flight. safe and friendly service. Many airlines should look up to Bangkok Air . Highly recommend.

Living on Koh Samui I have to use this airline alot, they are really the easy jet of Thailand. My flight was changed and I would miss my conecting flight,so had to get an earlier one.The only one avilable meant I would be there 5 hours ealier. On the way back I got into the airport 5 hours easlier and asked to change my ticket to an ealier flight,I could if I want to pay 1900 baht. They can change my flight and I get nothing,if I want to change mine I have to pay 1900 baht. This happends so many times with them. The inflight food is a joke, cold chicken pie and cheap orange juice. They take out flights so often and if you get the last flight out of Bangkok,it is nrmally delayed by 2 to 4 hours. If I do not have to use this airline I would not. EDITORS COMMENT: Has the airline cut its services between the island and mainland? I thought they were more regular than that. The on board offering is pretty good considering the short flight time - most airlines wouldn't offer that or they only use no frills carriers on the same route that offer nothing. Also you have access to the Bangkok Air lounge at the airport and that has snacks and drinks in it too.

Flew from Siem Reap to Bangkok as part of a Gate 1 Tour package. It is a flight of about 1 hour 20 minutes. The plane was an ATR 72 and looked to be quite new. The flight was full and the 2 cabin crew managed to roll out a tasty meal and a drink and clean up well before landing in BKK. The cabin space was on the tight side for me at 194 cm and 100 kgs but I find that in a lot of economy cabins. Over all a smooth flight with great service. Would certainly fly this airline again. EDITORS COMMENT: It's a pretty good on board experience for such a a short flight and the views out the window make it even better

I've flown on Bangkok Airways 10 times from Samui to Bangkok (returns included). The staff is friendly. Check in is average. The huge negative to this airline is they will bump all the passengers from an Airbus to a twin engine prop and not inform any of them. It happened to me 2 times. The airbus is 55 minutes, the prop is 1 hour and 35 min. You might think, "not a big deal". Well yes and no. I paid more for the airbus ticket and didn't choose the prop plan intentionally because I had appointments that day, so the 35 min additional travel time destroyed my day. I paid a premium for the airbus because it's faster and was downgraded and not informed or refunded the difference. This is like reaching into my wallet and stealing. Very unprofessional. Since BKK Airways is 1 of 2 airlines that has direct flights to Koh Samui from Bangkok the customer has not power and can't go to another carrier without paying 2x the ticket price (Thai Airways). Monopolies lead to bad service. This is an example. They will bump you, they don't care about the customers at all. If they did, they would respect the customer enough to inform them before bumping 50 people to a cheaper plane to operate. EDITORS COMMENT: That does happen and it is annoying but the time difference is actually only 20 minutes and there's heaps of direct flights everyday so perhaps take the flight that's earlier next time to allow for such things, Like you said - it happens and happens regularly unfortunately.

Flew Bangkok Airways from Phnom Penh to Bangkok and they were amazing. During the hour long flight, they served special meals, served meals (no choice) and drinks, did a tea and coffee run and then collected everything. On the overhead screens they played what appeared to a Canadian TV candid camera type show. None of the passengers had headphones therefore could not hear the sound and despite this the show was very funny. They have a basic lounge for economy class passengers. Would I fly with them again?- certainly

We flew from Chiang-Rai to Krabi via Bangkok and then return to Bangkok. I was pleasantly surprised with this airline. They offer lounges to all of their passengers with free drinks, food and Wi-Fi. The ground staff were nice and helpful so were the F/As. No issues to report at all.

Flew Bangkok.Phnom Pehn return this month. 3/14. Airbus 319. Quite a good aircraft. Full economy seating space. They serve a very satisfactory snack/meal Salad, ham and cheese plus croissant, desert and full drinks. This is only a 1 hour flight/ Those complaining about the ATR should realise it is a small plane, very short flight, and you have alounge before you go on board. So if you are hungry it is your flight. As for the baggage that or people. And it is not loaded underneath but at the front. I have always found the crew good. Check in staff great and if you are a FF member you get 30 kg baggage. I wil fly with them whenever I can.

In the past I took Bangkok Air from Bangkok to Sukhothai, and from Chiangmai to Bangkok. The provides lounges in Bangkok and Chiangmai even for coach class customers. At Sukothai the airport personnal saluted to passenger upon arrival. I traveled a lot, but never seen any other airlines provided any ground service and respect Bangkok Air.

I have traveled with the airline before, and was Ok. However, now I recommended it to a friend. And she bought a ticket. During her trip, she lost all her documentation, her phone was down and her laptop had run out of battery. I needed to contact her to give her vital information, I called each and every number these people have and they kept giving me more and more people to call. Finally, somebody gave me the telephone of the gate where my friend's flight was departing. A very nasty lady answered my phone and told me that she was very busy and could not deal with that at the moment and informed me that I should call a supervisor. So, I asked her, can you give me the number of your supervisor. She absolutely refused and hung up the phone.

Flew from Bangkok to Luang Prabang in an ATR 72. Embarking/disembarking only via aft door. First in, last out. So our suitcase under the a/c to be loaded. Seats have very little legroom: if person in front of you reclines, it's impossible to put your traytable down. Inflight service ok. Upon arrival 7 suitcases (including ours) were missing: Offloaded again in Bangkok, due to take off weight/weight and balance problems. Offloaded at random. Suitcase arrived 24 hrs later on Laos Airlines. No info, no excuses. My advise is: Avoid Bangkok Airways and choose Laos Airlines.

I have flown Bangkok Airways many times now, so enrolled in their frequent flyer program (free). Their lounges are available to all passengers, offering snacks, non alcoholic drinks and wi fi. My normal legs are from Suvarnabuhmi (BKK) to Phuket (HKT) and return on the Airbus A319, but have also flown on the ATR-42 to Koh Samui. I book a fruit meal online, and always find the inflight service attentive and courteous. I flew similar legs last year (2012) with the new Thai Airways regional airline Smile, but I think Bangkok Air is preferable. About to book again for September, I have always found them professional from online booking, airport check in, lounge, the flight, and baggage retrieval.

This is the best Airlines in modern day. It is far far better than all American Airlines combined and may be better than Thai Airways too. This Airlines give you good food , friendly services, very good seat for economy class ...PLUS a free LOUNGE for economy class also ... Woowww ...!!!... No others Airlines has an economy lounge. VERY CLEAVER MANAGEMENT ... 2 Thumbs UP ....:-) ... From BKK - CNX (Chiang Mai) .. But too bad we have to fly AirAsia back to BKK from CNE..

My husband and I flew return to Koh Samui from Phuket for our honeymoon. There aren't a huge number of airlines that fly to Koh Samui and we chose Bangkok Air for their value and convenience with a few flights daily. It was a turbo-prop ATR 72-500 but the short trip was comfortable and the food, while nothing special, was decent. The staff weren't terribly attentive but they were polite. Our return trip to Phuket was hugely delayed but the free refreshments and wifi at Samui airport made it less of a drag. We had a big stopover in Phuket so we only got slightly anxious

Have flown Bangkok Air a few times to Koh Samui from Phuket on the Aerospatiale aircraft. before you board in Phuket all passengers are allowed access to the lounge which has simple snacks and non alcoholic beverages in it. Once on board you are also provided with a snack and a water or a juice. There is no in flight entertainment on these flights but you don't need it - look out the window. We were in the back row and felt really squished as our seat had no recline what so ever. Some planes definitely appear newer than others and at times I have felt a little nervous but I always get to my destination safe and sound as does everyone else
