One-way economy fares include Perth to Sydney $205, Perth to Adelaide $219, Adelaide to Brisbane $145, Adelaide to Darwin $139, Byron to Sydney $55, Brisbane to Hamilton $95, Brisbane to Hobart $129 and Sydney to Brisbane $89.

The Virgin Australia Bring On Wonderful campaign will see a series of customer experience innovations over the coming months. The first of these is the Middle Seat Lottery, instantly turning the least favourite seat into one of the most valuable through a competition.

The Bring On Wonderful campaign follows a huge transformation of the airline over the past two years since it emerged from bankruptcy. This includes growing the fleet by over 60 per cent, hiring thousands of staff, greater integration of Velocity Frequent Flyer into the airline, the launch of cheaper business class fares, a commitment to net zero carbon emissions by 2050, resumption of international services, and the launch of partnerships with world-leading airlines such as Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines and United Airlines.

Virgin Australia Group chief executive Jayne Hrdlicka said the airline was entering a new era with the mission of creating unique, uplifting and industry-leading experiences that take flying out of the mundane and into the wonderful.

“We are proud of the journey we’ve been on over the last 24 months, with many achievements and learnings that have formed our ambitions for the future of Virgin Australia, our people and our guests,” said Ms Hrdlicka.

“Virgin Australia is an airline that’s doing things differently and we are having a lot of fun coming up with exciting new innovations to make every part of the travel experience more wonderful.

“This year alone we have launched new partnerships with Betty’s Burgers, Boost Juice, Myer and P.E Nation along with Qatar Airways and United Airlines.

“We’ve only just touched the tip of the iceberg in what’s possible and there’s so much energy right across Virgin Australia to make sure we are doing our best to leave a positive difference every time our guests fly with us.”

Virgin Group founder Sir Richard Branson said he is delighted to see Virgin Australia charting a new path.

“I’m delighted to see Virgin Australia going from strength to strength while reinventing what it means to be a traveller 22 years after we started this airline with the mission to do things differently,” said Sir Richard. “Wonderful customer service is at the forefront of every Virgin business around the world and I can’t wait to see what Virgin Australia has in store for their loyal customers next,” he said.

About AirlineRatings.com

Airlineratings.com was developed to provide everyone in the world a one-stop shop for everything related to airlines, formed by a team of aviation editors, who have forensically researched nearly every airline in the world.

Our rating system is rated from one to seven stars on safety – with seven being the highest ranking. Within each airline, you will find the country of origin, airline code, booking URL and seat map information. The rating system takes into account a number of different factors related to audits from aviation’s governing bodies, lead associations, as well as the airlines, own safety data. Every airline has a safety rating breakdown so you can see exactly how they rate.

Over 230 of the airlines on the site that carry 99 per cent of the world’s passengers have a product rating. Given that low-cost, regional and full-service carriers are so different we have constructed a different rating system for each which can be found within each airline.
