Only weeks after being named, once again, as one of the world’s top ten safest low-cost airlines Jetstar Asia has launched a new service from Singapore to Osaka via Clark in the Philippines.

From March 27, Jetstar Asia will operate three weekly services between Singapore and Osaka located in the Kansai region of Japan.

Jetstar Asia CEO Mr Bara Pasupathi said that this direct service is an exciting development for both the airline and its customers as it will be the first direct connection to Japan for customers in Northern Luzon, and the third connection to Osaka for customers in Singapore.

“Apart from the greater convenience for our travellers, this service will increase Jetstar’s capacity by up to three services a week through Kansai International Airport and Clark will now be the latest gateway in the region for Singapore travellers to fly to Osaka.

From Singapore, Jetstar Asia operates up to 12 services through Taipei to Osaka and up to 5 services through Manila to Osaka.

The flight time between Singapore and Osaka will be 9 hours.

Commenting on the airline’s recent safety accolade Pasupathi said “having Jetstar Asia recognized on the top 10 safest airlines list again is indeed an honour.

“This validation is a testimony of the quality of our people, processes and commitment to regulatory compliance and operational excellence. Since 2012, Jetstar Asia has achieved IOSA accreditation.”

“Being in the top 10 list for two consecutive years demonstrates the team’s consistency and team commitment to safety said Pasupathi.

Jetstar Asia carried more than 4.3 million passengers in FY16/17 on its fleet of 18 180-seat A320s.

In 2017, Jetstar Asia started flying to 3 new destinations – Hatyai, Okinawa and Clark.

Also, this month, Jetstar Asia was named the 8th most punctual airline in the world (OAG 2017) and in October, the airline was named the only airline in Asia Pacific region with a five Star-Rating for On-Time-Performance (OAG 2017).
