Alaska boosts winter services for sunlovers

Alaska Airlines is gearing up for the Pacific Northwest's annual winter exodus by boosting services to sunnier spots such as Florida, Hawaii and Palm Springs. Increased service to Florida will include a second daily flight between Seattle and Tampa from December 19 and a second daily Seattle-Fort Lauderdale flight from November 5. There will also be a second peak day flight Between Portland and Orlando starting January 7 and a third Seattle-Orlando flight starting on peak days from the same date. The increases will see the airline field eight daily services to Florida using its Boeing 737-900ER aircraft. For those heading to Hawaii, there will be a third daily service between Seattle and Maui from November 21. This is in addition to the recently added third daily Seattle-Honolulu flight. California’s Palm Springs will get 10 peak daily departures from the Pacific Northwest that include a third daily flight between Portland and Palm Springs starting January 7 and the recently announced new daily flight from Everett starting November 5. Skiers will also see expanded access between Seattle and the popular ski fields in Bozeman, Montana, starting January 7. "As the leading airline in the Pacific Northwest, we're excited to offer even more service to sun-soaked locales this winter," said Alaska’s executive in charge of capacity planning, Brett Catlin. "Whether it's a weekend getaway to Palm Springs or the trip of a lifetime to Asia, Alaska, together with our Global Partners, is proud to offer more nonstops to more destinations than any other carrier serving Seattle." Alaska Airlines and its regional partners fly 46 million guests a year to more than 115 destinations with an average of 1,200 daily flights across the United States and to Mexico, Canada and Costa Rica. It ranked highest among traditional carriers in the 2019 J.D. Power North America Airline Satisfaction Study, coming in first for the 12th consecutive year.
