Set up movie playlists before you fly with cool Emirates feature

Emirates passengers wanting to set up their inflight entertainment before they board can now do so thanks to a useful new function on the Dubai-based airline’s app. The airline's award-winning ice entertainment system offers a cornucopia of choices with more than 4000 channels of on-demand entertainment and a catalog of over 1,000 movies. There are also popular television box sets, tens of thousands of music tracks, podcasts and games. The app’s new entertainment syncing function allows customers to create their own playlist and then sync it to the seatback screen. They simply put their flight booking into the app and check out the entertainment options. This includes the ability to watch movie trailers. Passengers add their choices to a playlist in the app and once on board the aircraft connect to the inflight wi-fi. They then pair the playlist to their seatback screen, enter their seat number and a four-digit code on the back of the seat, press confirm and sit back to enjoy their choices. READ: Emirates cuts baggage allowances on cheaper tickets. The airline says the syncing capability is currently available on more than 100 Boeing 777s and will progressively be made available across the fleet, including the airline’s A380s, in coming months. Emirates president Tim Clark said the app functions was another example of the airline’s “Fly Better” promise. “This latest functionality on the Emirates app elevates the customer experience even before they step onto the aircraft,’’ he said. “Our customers can now browse the unmatched content on offer and create personal entertainment playlists at their leisure, and once comfortably settled in their seats on board, they simply sync and press play.” Other functions on the Emirates app include the ability for customers to book flights, hotels, car rentals, tours and attractions. Passengers can also browse through their flight’s menus and wine lists up to a month before the departure date as well as access 3D maps of aircraft interiors. The app is available for both Apple and Android operating systems.
