Delta Air Lines is following through on CEO Ed Bastian’s belief that 2021 will be “a year of recovery” with a package of new and additional routes this northern summer. Delta announced Friday it would add nine “brand new routes” to popular ports as well as additional nonstop flights to more than 20 mountain, beach, outdoor and other leisure destinations. The announcement comes after Delta also revealed a significant expansion of service to Alaska with more flights to Anchorage and the return of popular seasonal services to Juneau, Ketchikan, and Sitka. Delta will introduce a three times weekly New York/JFK-Bozeman service from May 7 that increases to daily from May 28. There will also be a new weekend service to Glacier Park from Seattle launching May 29 as well as an expansion of existing services. Other new routes include a Saturday service to Fresno, California, from Seattle launching May 29, a weekend service between Reno and Seattle from May 8 a Saturday service from Boston to Hilton Head, South Carolina, as well as a daily service from Boston and a Saturday service from Atlanta to Bangor, Maine. Delta is also promising greater connectivity across the US Northeast, increased services to the Caribbean and more flights to destinations such as Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Norfolk, Virginia; and Savannah, Georgia.
