Korean Air has received a 5-star global airline rating in the APEX Official Airline Ratings, and becomes one of a few airlines to earn the highest rating for the seventh consecutive year.

Headquartered in New York and established in 1979, APEX (Airline Passenger Experience Association) is a non-profit association, which has 482 airline industry members, including airlines and aircraft manufacturers. Since 2018, APEX has compiled an airline rating program based on passenger feedback via the mobile application "TripIt."

APEX collects passenger feedback from more than one million flights across 600 airlines from around the world in areas including seat comfort, cabin service, in-flight meals and in-flight entertainment. Based on the feedback, the APEX Official Airline Ratings is compiled and certified by a professional external auditing company.

The 5-star rating reflects Korean Air’s excellent service qualities. The airline’s rating is based on the intuitive features and comfort of its first class Kosmo Suites 2.0 and in-flight entertainment system that offers a wide variety of content. The airline also offers in-flight meals using seasonal ingredients and a quality wine selection.

Korean Air has maintained its 5-star status for the seventh consecutive year since 2018, a distinction only a handful global airlines share, including Air New Zealand, Cathay Pacific Airways, and Etihad Airways.

Korean Air recently developed and introduced a new Korean-style vegan meal, inspired from Korean traditional cuisine using a variety of fresh vegetables and seasonal ingredients to meet a variety of customers’ needs. With commitment to enhancing customer experience and service, Korean Air was awarded a 5-star airline rating by Skytrax for the second consecutive time, and was also ranked in three categories in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards 2023, including best business and first class.
