An exciting new AirlineRatings app combines in one unique package the latest in airline news and features with the ability to use safety as a criterion for booking flights. The world is at your fingertips thanks to the power of leading global booking portal Skyscanner and our smart flight location tool that automatically identifies the airport closest to you. An industry first allows passengers to prioritize their safety, and that of their loved ones, by using the app to filter a booking using airline safety ratings. The safety rating for each airline is based on a comprehensive analysis utilizing information from the world’s aviation governing body and leading airline association along with governments and crash data. Each airline has the potential to earn seven stars based a series of factors such as whether it has been fatality-free for 10 years. AirlineRatings.com exciting new app Other safety criteria include whether it has passed a detailed international audit known as IOSA and whether the country in which it is based meets safety parameters set by the UN-based International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). READ our safety criteria here. Additional filters in the app allow you to easily find the cheapest flights, determine the number of stops and choose a cabin class. It also remembers recent searches, saving you the trouble of typing them in again. Want to limit your search to certain take-off times?  That’s not an issue with an easy slide control. You can also select your favorite airline and airlines. The results display useful information such as trip time and the number of stops to help you hone your search and a comparison allows you to easily compare different offers in a split-screen format. Catch up on the latest news while waiting for the next flight through our regularly updated news feed. This allows you to read our latest airline and stories as well as check out our awards for product and safety. We also have breaking news alerts/notifications on the app to keep you informed. There are also special features on important events such as the mysterious disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 or you can take a fascinating journey into aviation’s past in our nostalgia section. The app works on both Apple and Android devices: iPhone users can download it from the App Store while Android users get it from Google Play. And best of all, it’s free. TOP FEATURES
