Paid for Option Plus on Air Transat (Punta Cana–Toronto): no priority check-in, no priority baggage, no real seat selection benefit. Staff were rude and dismissive. Service has clearly declined. Very disappointing from an airline I once trusted. Will reconsider flying again.

Stay away of the Air Transat - they behave like heartless con artists. My husband and I booked an Air Transat flight in May 2024 for early November. On November 4, 2024, we arrived at Pearson Airport over three hours before our expected departure time, only to learn that our flight had already departed two days earlier (!!!), on November 2. This was due to a schedule change that we were completely unaware of, as the airline’s only notification was a single email sent in July. This email was buried among 64 marketing messages from Air Transat and was the only one sent in French – despite all marketing communication being in English (we are in Toronto, English-speaking province). Air Transat made no follow-up efforts to ensure we were informed of this critical change. No phone call, no text message, or additional emails were sent. Such a lack of basic care, disregard and disrespect for customers. They blamed us that we didn't buy change/cancellation insurance, and the fact that THEY changed it, not us, was not even an argument. No credit, no other options, no ticket refund, reps either rude or useless. Asked 5 times to talk to the manager - the reply after long time listening to the music was "you don't need to talk to him". They must have sold our tickets again.

Transat Airlines is the worst airlines company I have ever seen and needs to be reported to department of transportation. My father had a flight scheduled to travel to YUL. I purchased the ticket for 1800+ k and on my dad's way to the hospital, he had a severe pulmonary emphysema illness where he was taken straight to the ER. I called and canceled the filght and informed them of the situation. They asked me to provide the documentation of the ER in order to get a credit, which I did. They refused to either give me a voucher or credit for my dad to travel. They require that I purchase a new ticket in order for my dad to travel. They are very rude, unprofessional, heartless, cruel people that I have ever seen. Do not travel with this company. They also have fake customer service number on their website when you call them to spend 3 hours on hold and can't never speak to an agent. Run away from them, they are bad!!!!!
