Air Canada review by Michael 2014-06-12

Aircraft: Boeing 777-300ER Flight: Frankfurt to Montreal The flight was actually very pleasant. Because of my great experiences I made before with Emirates, I didn't expect much from Air Canada. But everything was better than expected. The departure in Frankfurt was smooth and on time and the flight was partly relaxing. The only negative aspect to mention is that the pilots both on this flight and the return flight had a very strange and rough flight style. On this flight the aircraft was even flying nearly half an hour through the wake of another aircraft which caused some turbulence. But all in all I can say that the flight was actually good. I had also a smooth landing in Montreal. The seats on that Aircraft (Two class Boeing 777-300ER, Registration C_FITU) were highly comfortable and spacious! Also the legroom was acceptable. The Inflight Entertainment had a medium variety of movies, series and music and flight information such as maps to offer. I was a bit disappointed because there were no special offers like games or a front view camera. But they might be added soon. Another positive aspect is that the cabin crew was speaking many languages. On this flight all spoke french, english and some were able to speak german and other languages. The variety and quality of beverages was great but only the meal wasn't satisfying. There were pasta and fish available. I took the pasta and I didn't like it. Only the snack before arrival (a wrap with chicken, salad and a sauce) was very delicious. The most positive aspect of flying with Air Canada was the extreme friendliness of the cabin crew. All of them were very friendly, open, helpful and some were even funny. An experience you can only make with Air Canada because it reflects the great Canadian mentality. The only thing that relly disappointed and even shocked me was the price. It was nearly the same as for an Emirates flight in that season! And respecting the longer flight duration and both performances I can say that the price was really overvalued. All in all a very satisfying flight and the 7 hours went by quite fast. I can really recommend this airline although it has some flaws.
