We travelled on Singapore Airlines business class from Melbourne to Hong Kong in May on the midnight flight. The service from take off to landing was first class. Tattinger champagne before and after take off and then a ''book the cook meal'', a couple of glasses of chardonnay and then a slumber before landing at Changi. I didn't avail myself of the bed as it is basically impossible for me to sleep - I just snooze. We then had a connecting daylight flight to Hong Kong once again in business class. Like the flight before it, it was faultless with superb service. A few weeks later we flew from Bangkok to Singapore and then Singapore to Melbourne a few days later. Once again all the flights were memorable for their professional service. The only down side for us was the flight to Melbourne which left Changi at 10.45 am. As soon as the seat belt signs were off the four other people in the forward business cabin all pulled their beds out and shut down their windows resulting in the small cabin being plunged into darkness. The planning that went into a daylight back home was completely lost so we may as well have taken an overnight flight instead.
