Allegiant Air review by Rocky 2016-01-03

Have flown Allegiant several times KIWA (Mesa/Phoenix) to KBLI (Bellingham WA). This is a no frills airline so be aware of add-on fees such as using a credit card to pay for air fare. If you add up all the extra fees the cost isn't much less than flying another carrier. Will your flight be on time? In my flights not usually. Will you be comfortable? Hardly. The MD80s are really old and beat up with non functioning bathrooms. The most recent experience on a 06:00 departure from KIWA was having the dispatch paperwork delayed for 1.5 hours because of a computer malfunction. Really? I'm a pilot and I am concerned about their competence. There should be no issues getting dispatch on the first flight of the day. I will not fly Allegiant again. EDITORS COMMENT:Thanks for your balanced review and we agree - its really important to add up all the fees first. The aircraft are very old which doesn't mean they are unsafe but they probably will have to do more maintenance on them.
