After choosing Frontier as the lowest cost alternative from Washington, DC to Las Vegas, my first surprise was paying $30 for the privilege of choosing our seats. If you don't pay this, you might not get to sit together. After paying for all checked bags AND our carry-ons, well, Frontier is no longer such a bargain. The brand new plane we flew in was modified to be as uncomfortable as possible. The seats were custom made to take as little space as possible. No padding -- just plastic stretched over the frame. No padding or upholstery at all. Seat pitch was the closest I have ever experienced. I think it was 30 inches. The seat back trays were less than the size of an ipad. Try to find the button to recline the seats. THE SEATS DO NOT RECLINE! The flight attendants were surly. We sat on the ramp for 45 minutes waiting for the pilots to sort out some technical difficulty. Seat belt sign was on. Nobody gets up. Okay. Then we finally take off, and the seat belt sign stays on for another 45 minutes. They couldn't care less if you have to use the restroom. I don't know how Frontier Airlines will ever get a repeat customer. We will never fly with them again. EDITORS COMMENT: Frontier is a low cost airline therefore it does offer passengers the option to pay for a checked bag or just take carry on. if your seats were backing on to the emergency exit then they would not recline. This is common on all single aisle aircraft
