For anyone flying with children over the age of 5, DON'T FLY SOUTHWEST. It's open seating so if there are no seats together by the time you board, your kid's sitting by themselves. The answer I got when I called was, that's the way it is, that's the way it's always been, and you have to pay extra if you want to board first to ensure you can sit with your child.
