Before we flew from Auckland Jacquie in Auckland sorted out our problem with an unexpected change of seat numbers (apart) and made sure we were together for the entire journey to the UK. Excellent service onboard from Auckland to LA and onwards to Heathrow. Ange and Moses stand out as cabin crew on the first leg and Sandra on the second leg from LA to Heathrow. Food and NZ wine was excellent and entertainment was great as were the items provided. The space seats took a bit of getting used to but the main comfort issue was the lack of control over individual seat temperature on the Boeing 777. The overall cabin temperature on both flights was pretty high making it difficult to dose off. The 777 is also louder than the Airbus 380. We prefer a cooler temperature and the use of a blanket to get us off to sleep. Others may disagree. In hindsight we would probably have given a higher overall score if we had stayed somewhere overnight and broken the long journey into two more tolerable journeys. I think that booking a straight through journey with 5 hour layover in between added to our discomfort. Lesson learned for future. Keep that crew though!
