Premium Economy

VERY disappointing on a return flight Sydney Vancouver in Premium Economy. I usually fly Qantas but had work in Vancouver, so this seemed like a good idea; it wasn't. Their service in Premium Economy is new and hardly worth bothering. Good leg room but seat too narrow for sleeping on your side. Contrary to other airlines (including Emirates and JAL), there was no designated crew for this section. Large meal trolleys rattled on through to the next sections and no designated staff, just doing a job with only one person smiling on the whole trip. No storage place- the little net holder on back of seat barely held the publications; holes in the side meant that glasses etc fell through. No place for shoes if handbag was under front seat. Assuming quality, I didn't bring my own ear phones (most people did!). The cheap ones provided were inadequate- not clear where to plug in for a start, with no-one offering service. I ended up unable to watch movies due to poor sound. I also tried to get ground staff members to ask other Premium Econ people when they checked in if anyone would like to trade a window for an aisle, but they would only do document checks; wouldn't talk to me!
