Economy Class

Flight from Wellington was cancelled after we had all been waiting in an over-crowded departure area without enough seats for something like an hour because the incoming plane made 3 failed attempts to land and was diverted, supposedly due to weather (it was a bit windy). This in spite of the fact that another Jetstar plane did land while we were waiting as did Air New Zealand planes. In spite of a long conversation on the phone with customer service afterward, we were told we would have to fill out their online response form to get any hope of compensation. We did that over 3 weeks ago and haven't had any response back. We were also told that the best we could hope for was a voucher, usable only by us and only good for 6 months, even though we were overseas visitors, wont be back in that time, and their cancellation could have seriously disrupted our trip. They told everyone at the gate when they announced the cancellation to go back to the check-in desks so they could re-book us. One look at the queue there, virtually out the door and not moving, and we went to the Air New Zealand desk who got us on a flight less than an hour later. 10 stars ANZ, 0 stars Jetstar
