I flew to Christchurch from LAX over the holidays, my first trip on Air New Zealand. After flying home on Virgin Australia, I'm even more appreciative of my experience with ANZ. I flew in Economy, with a preferred seat (58A). This seat is one from the three rows in the back of the plane which are 2 seats across instead of 3. There was a bit of extra storage due to the curvature of the plane, and I was really impressed with the leg room. I'm 5'9", and had at least two inches to spare. I could comfortably nest into my seat with the pillow and fleecy blanket provided, and slept very well. There were so many great movies to choose from when I woke up (far better selection than VA, in my opinion). The food was alright, and was served with a smile. Service was amazing. From check-in through arriving gate crews, everyone served with a smile and nice things to say. I appreciated the cheerful attitudes so much, especially when my flight experienced a delay leaving LAX and I had to dash through Auckland for a connection. Everyone was very helpful the entire way through, and I made my connection without a problem. I would fly Air New Zealand again in a heartbeat!
