My wife and used SPIRIT once and only once. They do not deserve a second chance. WIth a la carte pricing you will end up paying more than a traditional airline ticket. They do not have a phone app, their seats are uncomfortable (even when you pay for extra room), the cabin was at an uncomfortable temperature. AT the end of a 2 hour flight my wife and I were sweating. They do not notify you if your flight is canceled or delayed. They do not offer any free beverages, not even water. There are ads for credit cards and other products on virtually every single free space possible. Customer service was very rude to my wife when her flight was canceled - it took over an hour to book a replacement flight....and they even tried to charge my wife for the rebooking until she escalated. Avoid this airline at all costs. You will not save money in the long run and your flight will be unpleasant. DO not believe the 3 star as there are several obvious planted 10 star ratings. EDITORS COMMENT: It's a low cost carrier and that's why they charge for everything. It pays to add up all the costs at the time of booking to see if it is actually cheaper. Hate advertising in planes - its the same for AirAsia and Ryanair but it keeps fares down for us so we have to put up with it
