We have flown Air Asia X for the last 5 years from Melbourne to KL without any issues. Sure its low cost so you get what you pay for. Fortunately we have not yet had to undergo any cancellations so I cannot tell you how good or bad they are handling such matters. But a few tips: Always pay for for the tickets using PayPal. This way if there are any issues just ask PayPal for a refund. This also saves you of their sneaky charges they impose using credit cards. Show up 3 hours before the flight.
