Flying from CLE to BOI via DEN. The flight originating from NY arrived The flight originating in NY arrived to CLE with 4 hours delay, which resulted in in waiting another 4 hours in DEN for connection to BOI. All together flying from CLE to BOI with United took longer than flying from BOI to Tokyo with DELTA few days later. Reason being departure from NY delayed by 4 hours as a result of UNITED policy of completing crews from individuals arriving to so called hubs with different flights. If you think this is bad, consider that last spring United flight returning to the US from Madrid was delayed by two days!
